AVP, International Tax

This AVP, International Tax role supports Arch’s International Tax team across EMEA on complex tax matters including M&A, special projects, transfer pricing, tax controversy, direct tax compliance, and US GAAP tax reporting. The position focuses on helping shape and implement international tax strategy while ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations across multiple jurisdictions. The successful candidate will carry out technical tax research and provide analysis on the implications of international business activities, reinsurance arrangements, and cross-border capital flows. They will also support tax aspects of mergers, acquisitions, expansions, and restructurings, while monitoring legislative developments and communicating potential impacts to the business. A significant part of the role involves compliance, reporting, and governance. This includes managing direct tax compliance, maintaining transfer pricing documentation and intercompany agreements, and contributing to process improvements and automation initiatives. The role also supports risk management by identifying tax risks in cross-border transactions and helping maintain robust tax controls and governance processes. The position requires close collaboration with Finance, Legal, Treasury, external advisors, regulators, and auditors. Candidates should have a relevant degree and professional qualification such as CPA, CA, or CTA, along with at least five years’ international tax experience. Strong knowledge of international tax, transfer pricing, BEPS, and cross-border structuring is essential, while non-life insurance experience and knowledge of US GAAP or IFRS tax reporting are advantageous.
