AVP, International Tax

Arch Europe Insurance Services Ltd is part of Arch Capital Group, a global specialty insurer and reinsurer. The AVP, International Tax role supports the International Tax team across EMEA on a wide range of complex tax matters, including international tax strategy, mergers and acquisitions, transfer pricing, tax controversy, and some direct tax compliance and US GAAP tax reporting. The role involves helping develop and implement international tax strategies while ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations. Responsibilities include technical research, analysing the tax implications of cross-border business activities, reinsurance arrangements and capital flows, and supporting restructuring, expansion and M&A projects. The successful candidate will also monitor international tax developments and communicate business impacts to stakeholders. On the compliance and governance side, the position manages direct tax compliance in relevant jurisdictions, supports transfer pricing documentation and intercompany agreements, and contributes to tax process improvement and automation initiatives. The role also includes identifying tax risks in cross-border transactions, helping maintain strong internal controls, and supporting the company’s tax governance framework. The AVP will work closely with Finance, Legal, Treasury and external advisors, regulators and auditors on international tax matters and audits. The role also includes supporting senior leaders in dealings with tax authorities and helping guide junior team members. Candidates should have a relevant degree and professional tax or accounting qualification, with at least five years’ international tax experience, ideally including insurance, cross-border structuring, transfer pricing, and tax reporting under US GAAP or IFRS.
