The Opportunity

You will provide a blend of tax advisory and compliance services to a wide-ranging client base, including:

  • Start-ups and scale-ups

  • Privately owned businesses

  • Large listed and multinational organisations

  • Clients operating in the UK and overseas

Because every client is different, you will apply your expertise across a broad variety of sectors and business models, helping you develop deeper commercial understanding and build a highly versatile tax career.


What You’ll Be Doing

In this role, you will take ownership of a significant client portfolio while working closely with senior stakeholders across BDO. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing a substantial portfolio of clients in a commercial and profitable way

  • Delivering high-quality corporate tax compliance and advisory services

  • Advising on complex tax matters with confidence and technical accuracy

  • Leading and contributing to complex tax projects

  • Building strong relationships with clients and understanding their commercial objectives

  • Working collaboratively with Senior Managers, Directors, and Partners

  • Identifying opportunities to enhance service delivery and introduce additional services

  • Supporting client onboarding, engagement management, and billing processes

  • Monitoring recoverability and supporting effective cash collection

  • Using shared service resources and technology tools to deliver efficient client outcomes

  • Recognising potential risks in line with the firm’s quality control procedures

  • Escalating issues appropriately and maintaining compliance with firm standards

  • Coaching, mentoring, and supporting junior colleagues and team members


What We’re Looking For

We are seeking a confident and commercially aware tax professional with strong technical expertise and leadership capability. You should bring:

  • In-depth and current knowledge of taxation

  • Specialist expertise and the ability to handle complex tax issues

  • Strong project management and people management experience

  • Proven ability to manage a substantial client portfolio

  • Experience identifying and pursuing new business opportunities

  • A track record of growing relationships and selling additional services to existing clients

  • Experience providing both compliance and advisory services across a varied client base

  • Strong understanding of client take-on, engagement processes, billing, recoveries, and collections

  • Awareness of risk management and the importance of quality control procedures

  • Experience leading, supervising, training, and mentoring less experienced team members

  • Demonstrable experience delivering complex projects successfully

Qualifications

  • Degree educated and/or

  • CTA and/or ACA qualified (or equivalent)

  • Demonstrable post-qualified experience
