We are looking for an experienced Corporation Tax Senior Manager or Associate Director to lead complex corporate tax work, strengthen client relationships, and play a key role in the continued success and growth of our tax team.


The Opportunity

In this senior leadership role, you will take ownership of large and complex corporate tax engagements, delivering high-quality tax planning and compliance services to clients.

You will act as a trusted adviser, lead and develop talented teams, and contribute to wider business development activity. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially aware tax professional who combines technical expertise with strong leadership capability.


What You’ll Be Responsible For

Corporate Tax Leadership

  • Overseeing complex and high-risk Corporation Tax engagements

  • Providing strategic advice on tax planning and compliance

  • Reviewing and preparing final tax packs and transmittal letters for higher-risk clients

  • Leading on technical matters, with director or partner involvement limited to only the most complex cases

  • Ensuring technical accuracy, service excellence, and strong client outcomes

Client Relationship Management

  • Building and maintaining strong, trusted relationships with clients

  • Acting confidently as a senior point of contact on key accounts

  • Anticipating industry, legislative, and regulatory changes that may impact clients

  • Proactively identifying opportunities to support clients with relevant solutions

Team Leadership & People Development

  • Coaching, mentoring, and developing junior team members and managers

  • Supporting team members through change with clear communication and direction

  • Managing performance effectively, including identifying development needs and supporting improvement plans

  • Delegating work appropriately to support team growth and strategic goals

  • Helping to create a positive, motivated, and high-performing team culture

  • Leading or supporting team meetings, agendas, and discussion points

  • Encouraging team engagement through training, collaboration, and team-building initiatives

Operational Efficiency

  • Championing efficient ways of working and encouraging the use of new technologies

  • Identifying opportunities to improve delivery and implementing practical solutions

  • Empowering team members to share ideas that improve efficiency and effectiveness

  • Managing team resources and capacity effectively

  • Ensuring work is allocated according to skillset and completed at the right level

Business Development & Growth

  • Building market and sector awareness to identify new opportunities

  • Developing and maintaining a relevant professional network that supports business generation

  • Promoting your specialist expertise to clients, prospects, and professional referrers

  • Contributing to team growth targets and supporting wider business objectives

  • Helping drive the continued development and success of the tax practice

Skills & Experience

Technical Expertise

  • Strong experience in Corporation Tax compliance and advisory work

  • Proficient in reviewing final tax packs and transmittal letters for high-risk Corporation Tax clients

  • Proficient in preparing final tax packs and transmittal letters for higher-risk Corporation Tax clients

  • Confidence in leading technical work independently, escalating only the most complex matters where required

  • Strong awareness of legislative developments and their practical client impact

  • Commitment to maintaining technical excellence across the wider team through training and knowledge sharing

Leadership Capabilities

  • Experience leading teams and creating a strong team culture

  • Ability to motivate others, recognise success, and manage through change

  • Confidence in addressing poor performance constructively and effectively

  • Skilled in coaching, mentoring, delegation, and conflict resolution

  • Strong organisational skills, including team planning and resource management

Commercial Awareness

  • Understanding of the broader business and competitive environment

  • Ability to identify new opportunities for clients and the firm

  • Proven relationship-building skills with clients and professional contacts

  • A visible leadership presence within a tax or professional services environment

Qualifications

  • A recognised tax and/or accountancy qualification, such as:

  • CTA

  • ACA

  • ACCA

  • CA


Essential Background

You will have developed the required core and technical skills through a combination of professional study and hands-on experience within an accountancy practice.
