The Opportunity
BAT UK is looking for a Corporate Tax Specialist – UK to join our team in London.
In this role, you will support the effective management of BAT’s UK corporate tax position through a combination of compliance, reporting, forecasting, advisory work, and process improvement. You will play an important part in ensuring BAT meets all statutory obligations while contributing expert insight across a range of corporate tax matters.

What You’ll Be Doing
As Corporate Tax Specialist, you will take ownership of a broad and varied remit across UK corporate tax activities.
Key responsibilities include:
Managing a portfolio of UK entities from a corporate tax compliance perspective
Overseeing both outsourced entities by acting as relationship manager to external providers
Handling internally managed entities by completing compliance requirements in-house
Supporting the delivery of BAT’s global tax strategy
Providing proactive guidance to improve tax management effectiveness
Assisting relevant teams in executing strategic tax objectives
Driving continuous improvement
Identifying opportunities to enhance UK tax management processes and systems
Supporting greater efficiency through the use of technology and automation
Producing tax reporting and forecasting outputs
Preparing agreed UK management and statutory tax reporting data
Delivering analysis to support regular reporting and forecasting cycles
Contributing to BAT’s wider tax transformation journey
Supporting global initiatives focused on efficiency, centralisation, and automation
Leveraging business data capabilities within Global Business Services
Providing specialist tax advice
Advising on areas of corporate tax compliance and tax reporting
Supporting international tax matters, including Pillar Two
Executing specialist tax activities
Delivering work in line with agreed global standard processes and frameworks
Supporting areas such as:
Corporation tax
Transfer pricing
Inter-company recharge management
Monitoring legislative developments
Keeping up to date with changes in UK tax law
Recommending actions and planning initiatives in response to tax developments
Supporting tax centralisation initiatives
Providing proactive support for the centralisation of taxation transactions
Assisting with areas such as global-to-local transfer pricing
What We’re Looking For
We’re looking for a technically strong and commercially aware tax professional who can operate effectively in a fast-paced and evolving business environment.
You should bring:
Excellent corporate tax technical knowledge
Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with:
Tax authorities
Internal stakeholders
Confidence working under pressure and meeting tight deadlines
A degree-level education
A relevant professional accountancy and/or tax qualification
It would be beneficial if you also have:
Experience working in a global FMCG business
Exposure to a similarly dynamic and complex operating environment
