Direct Tax Manager

Ford’s Office of Tax Counsel is hiring a UK Tax Accountant to support corporate tax compliance, reporting, and advisory work across the UK business. The role covers preparing and submitting UK corporation tax computations and returns, assisting with tax accounting and provisioning under US GAAP and UK statutory reporting, and supporting UK R&D tax credit claims. The successful candidate will also help manage HMRC interactions, contribute to transfer pricing analysis and documentation, and provide support on ad hoc regional tax matters in collaboration with European tax teams. This position offers broad exposure to both compliance and advisory responsibilities in a large in-house tax environment. A key part of the role is working closely with internal stakeholders across Tax, Finance, and the wider business to ensure accuracy, compliance, and effective delivery. The role also includes helping drive digital transformation initiatives within the tax function, with a focus on improving processes, systems, and reporting efficiency in a fast-paced setting. Ford is seeking a qualified ACA, ACCA, and/or CTA professional with 0–3 years’ post-qualified experience and strong technical knowledge of UK corporation tax. Candidates may come from either professional practice or an in-house tax background and should also have working knowledge of UK GAAP, strong organisational ability, and excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. Strong Excel and general systems skills are required. Desirable experience includes Alphatax, exposure to US GAAP, and familiarity with UK employment tax or benefits taxation. The role is based in Dunton, with an expectation of attending the office around four days a week while remaining flexible based on business needs.
