About the Role

Tax Manager, eCompliance Hub

Amazon UK Services Ltd.

Job ID: A10389547

Help Shape the Future of Tax Digitisation at Amazon

Amazon is looking for a Tax Manager to join the eCompliance Hub within the International Stores Tax organisation. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in advancing Amazon’s approach to VAT/Indirect Tax e-compliance, with a particular focus on Procure-to-Pay (P2P) programs.

In this role, you will provide primary tax support for initiatives designed to meet real-time electronic invoicing and digital tax reporting obligations. As tax digitisation continues to evolve globally, you will help ensure Amazon’s systems, processes, and controls remain effective, scalable, and compliant.

There may also be opportunities in the future to extend your support beyond P2P into other core business programs and operational processes.

What You’ll Be Doing

As Tax Manager, you will work across a broad range of stakeholders, including teams in technology, finance, operations, and the wider business, to design and support practical, compliant tax solutions.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Partnering cross-functionally with internal stakeholders, including technology teams, to build and enhance robust tax processes for P2P.

  • Interpreting VAT/GST legislation and assessing how it applies to P2P systems, tools, and operational workflows.

  • Providing practical implementation guidance to ensure tax requirements are embedded effectively into business and technology solutions.

  • Working closely with Tax Planning and Tax Compliance Leads across countries and regions to support sustainable ongoing compliance.

  • Designing, executing, and signing off tax test cases during:

  • User Acceptance Testing (UAT)

  • Production verification activities

  • Developing and maintaining tax controls and governance processes to identify, manage, and mitigate ongoing P2P tax risk.

What a Typical Day Might Look Like

This is a highly collaborative and problem-solving focused role. On any given day, you may be advising technology teams on VAT/GST implications, reviewing how new e-invoicing rules impact system functionality, or creating tax test scenarios for upcoming releases.

You will also work closely with country tax leads to address complex compliance issues, often in areas where the answer is not immediately clear. This means researching legislation, evaluating risk, and recommending solutions that are both technically sound and operationally realistic.

While your main focus will be on VAT/GST impacts within P2P, you will also collaborate with teams across Tax Compliance, Direct Tax, and Withholding Tax to help deliver joined-up and comprehensive outcomes.

About the eCompliance Hub

The eCompliance Hub Team is responsible for helping Amazon meet both current and emerging e-invoicing requirements in a way that is customer-focused, scalable, automated, and audit-ready.

The team’s mission is to build trust with suppliers, customers, business partners, and tax authorities by ensuring Amazon remains compliant through:

  • Forward-looking planning

  • Strong program management

  • Solution and product capability development

  • Policy influence

  • Playbook creation and continuous improvement

What We’re Looking For

Basic Qualifications

  • Experience working in a large public accounting firm or a multinational corporate tax department

  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office products and applications

  • Strong working knowledge of VAT/Indirect Tax, particularly in relation to real-time e-invoicing requirements

  • Experience working with European tax laws

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience using VBA, Python, SQL, or other database/programming languages

  • Additional experience working with European tax legislation

  • Proficiency in the use of AI tools

  • Experience implementing finance technology and/or process improvements

Why This Role Stands Out

This position offers the chance to work at the intersection of tax, technology, and transformation. You will have the opportunity to influence how Amazon responds to fast-changing global tax digitisation requirements while helping build solutions that are practical, scalable, and future-ready.

If you enjoy solving complex challenges, collaborating with diverse stakeholders, and translating technical tax rules into meaningful business outcomes, this role offers a unique platform to make a significant impact.
