Financial Services Tax Disputes Senior Manager

PwC UK

Join PwC UK in a pivotal role within our Tax Disputes team, where legal expertise and tax technical knowledge come together to deliver exceptional outcomes for clients in the financial services sector.

As a Financial Services Tax Disputes Senior Manager, you will play a leading role in helping clients navigate complex disputes, from the earliest stages of enquiry and investigation through to resolution, whether by negotiated agreement, alternative dispute mechanisms, or court proceedings.

About the Role

Our Tax Disputes lawyers are fully embedded within PwC’s wider tax practice, allowing us to provide clients with a seamless and fully integrated disputes service.

This approach means we support clients across the entire lifecycle of a tax dispute, including:

  • Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR)

  • Treaty-based solutions

  • Tax litigation and court proceedings

At PwC, litigation is not viewed as a standalone final step. It is part of a broader, flexible resolution strategy tailored to each client’s needs. Clients choose us because we combine deep tax technical expertise with strong disputes and litigation capability.

What You’ll Be Doing

In this role, you will take ownership of key matters while working closely with a wider team of specialists. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Preparing clear, high-quality written advice for clients

  • Drafting responses to formal correspondence

  • Instructing Counsel, including:

  • Preparing Instructions to Counsel

  • Drafting Notes of Conference/Consultation

  • Producing key legal and procedural documents, such as:

  • Directions

  • Notices of Appeal

  • Witness statements

  • Presenting case law developments and technical updates to:

  • PwC’s Financial Services tax practice

  • Client events and external forums

What We’re Looking For

This opportunity is ideal for someone who combines legal and technical excellence with strong communication and case management skills.

You will likely be successful in this role if you have:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Experience in litigation

  • A strong background in project management and case management

  • Outstanding technical capability

  • The ability to work independently and manage responsibilities proactively

Qualifications

To be considered for this role, you must have one of the following:

  • A Legal Qualification
