The Opportunity

We are looking for an Associate Director to join our expanding Funds Tax team. This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a fast-growing and highly regarded practice that supports a wide range of clients across the asset management landscape.

Our team advises investment funds, fund managers, and related structures across private equity, venture capital, and other alternative asset classes. We support clients throughout the full fund lifecycle, delivering both complex tax compliance and strategic advisory services.

In this role, you will take a leading position in managing client relationships, overseeing the successful delivery of tax work, developing junior team members, and contributing to the continued growth of the practice.

What You’ll Be Doing

As an Associate Director within the Funds Tax team, your role will include a blend of client leadership, technical delivery, team development, and business growth responsibilities.

Key responsibilities

• Act as a trusted contact for clients, providing high-quality tax compliance and advisory support.

• Manage a portfolio of fund and asset management clients, ensuring all work is completed accurately and within agreed deadlines.

• Lead the preparation and review of tax returns, tax computations, and other fund tax reporting requirements.

• Advise clients on tax matters relating to the structuring, operation, and exit of investment funds and associated vehicles.

• Support and mentor junior team members through delegation, review, and practical coaching.

• Brief junior staff effectively on client activities, assignments, and expectations, while supervising the quality and completion of work.

• Deliver on-the-job training and help build technical capability across the team.

• Identify business development opportunities, supporting proposals, pitches, and client presentations.

• Build and strengthen internal and external networks to enhance collaboration and grow market presence.

What We’re Looking For

We are seeking an experienced tax professional with strong technical capability, leadership skills, and a commercial mindset.

Ideal candidate profile

• Significant experience in UK fund tax, with exposure to investment funds, fund managers, and alternative asset structures.

• Strong technical expertise in partnership taxation and other key areas of UK tax relevant to funds.

• Proven experience managing client relationships and leading teams effectively.

• Commercial awareness and an interest in contributing to business development activity.

• Professionally qualified, such as CTA, ACA, ACCA, or equivalent.
