We are now looking for an experienced and strategic Head of Global Tax to lead our international tax function and drive excellence across compliance, planning, governance, and team leadership.
About the Role
As Head of Global Tax, you will take ownership of Thinkproject’s global tax strategy and compliance framework. This is a senior leadership position with broad international scope, responsible for ensuring regulatory compliance, managing tax risk, advising on business decisions, and identifying opportunities to optimise the company’s tax position globally.
You will also lead and develop a high-performing tax team, working closely with stakeholders across the business to ensure tax considerations are fully aligned with corporate strategy and operational priorities.
What You’ll Be Doing
In this role, you will be responsible for a broad range of strategic and operational tax activities, including:
Global Tax Strategy & Compliance
Developing and implementing global tax strategies to support and optimise the company’s tax position
Ensuring compliance with international tax laws, regulations, and reporting requirements
Overseeing the preparation and review of tax returns and filings across all relevant jurisdictions
Monitoring legislative and regulatory developments and assessing their impact on the business
Preparing and reviewing tax provision calculations and financial statement disclosures
Advisory & Risk Management
Providing expert guidance on the tax implications of business transactions, legal structures, and corporate initiatives
Managing tax audits, inquiries, and disputes with tax authorities across jurisdictions
Identifying tax risks and opportunities and recommending appropriate actions
Supporting the wider business with clear, commercially sound tax advice
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Partnering with internal departments to ensure alignment between tax strategy, business objectives, and compliance requirements
Contributing to decision-making on international business activities and organisational developments
Participating in process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and scalability within the tax function
Leadership & Team Development
Leading and managing the global tax team
Building, motivating, and developing a high-performing function
Providing coaching, guidance, and professional development opportunities for team members
Promoting best practice and continuous improvement in global tax management
What You’ll Bring
We are looking for a tax leader with strong international experience, excellent judgement, and the ability to combine technical expertise with commercial awareness.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
CPA, CTA, or equivalent professional certification required
Minimum 10 years of experience in global tax management or a comparable senior tax role
Experience gained within an international company environment
German native speaker
Technical Expertise
Extensive knowledge of international tax laws and regulations, with particular strength in Germany and global tax matters
Profound expertise in transfer pricing within an international organisation
Strong understanding of tax compliance, tax reporting, and tax planning in a multinational setting
Leadership & Personal Strengths
Proven leadership and team management skills
Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively across functions and geographies
A proactive mindset with a commitment to continuous improvement and best practice
