As an Indirect Tax Senior Manager, you will take on a highly visible role, advising clients on customs and trade matters while helping to shape the continued success of a growing specialist team.

The opportunity
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Trade & Customs professional who wants to play a key role in a successful and expanding team.
You will be trusted to lead client engagements, strengthen client relationships, support business growth, and develop junior colleagues, all while working alongside senior leaders who are committed to helping you reach your full potential.
What you will be doing
As a key member of the team, your responsibilities will include:
Delivering high-quality customs and international trade advice in line with UK legislation, HMRC guidance, and relevant overseas jurisdiction requirements, with support from KPMG member firms where needed
Leading and maintaining strong client relationships for the accounts and engagements under your responsibility
Developing innovative and commercially effective solutions that help clients identify Customs Duty risks and uncover opportunities
Managing engagement finances, including project budgeting, financial oversight, and billing to ensure profitable and efficient delivery
Supporting business development and marketing initiatives that contribute to the continued growth of the team
Coaching and developing junior team members from both a technical and commercial perspective
Working closely with directors and partners who will provide support, guidance, and development opportunities
Collaborating with specialists across International Tax, Transfer Pricing, and Indirect Tax (VAT) to deliver joined-up advice where required
What we’re looking for
We are looking for someone who combines deep technical capability with strong leadership, commercial awareness, and a collaborative approach.
You are likely to bring many of the following:
Significant Trade & Customs experience gained in either a compliance or advisory environment
A relevant chartered tax qualification, legal qualification, international qualification, or equivalent experience
A strong sense of personal responsibility and accountability
Excellent people skills, with the ability to build credibility and rapport with both clients and colleagues
The ability to communicate with impact in a way that is clear, open, honest, and consistent
A proven track record of identifying and pursuing business opportunities
Sound judgement, including the ability to recognise risk issues and know when to involve others
Strong analytical capability and a commercial mindset when resolving issues and delivering advice
High levels of drive, enthusiasm, and positivity, along with a commitment to staying technically up to date
An appreciation of ethical and risk considerations within a client service environment
A genuine willingness to coach and support less experienced colleagues
The ability to give clear direction and provide constructive, positive feedback
A cooperative and respectful working style with clients and team members
A strong focus on maintaining high standards of quality and client service
