About the Role

Senior Manager / Manager – Tax

PwC UK

PwC UK is looking for a Senior Manager or Manager to join its fast-paced and collaborative tax team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced tax professional who enjoys combining technical expertise with client relationship management, compliance oversight, and advisory support.

In this role, you will deliver high-quality tax services to partnership clients, helping them meet their UK tax obligations while also supporting wider planning and advisory matters. You will need a strong understanding of partnership and partner tax issues, along with the confidence to work closely with clients and internal teams.

Experience with overseas partnerships would be advantageous, though it is not essential. Exposure to inbound clients, particularly US or other international businesses, would be especially valuable. Training and support will be provided to help you grow your expertise further.

The Opportunity

This position offers the chance to play a key role in delivering both compliance and advisory services to a broad partnership client base. You will act as a trusted point of contact, helping clients navigate complex tax matters while also contributing to the development of junior team members and supporting wider business growth initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Client Leadership & Relationship Management

  • Build and maintain strong, trusted relationships with clients

  • Act as a primary contact for day-to-day tax matters

  • Provide clear, practical tax advice and planning support

  • Deliver a high standard of service aligned with client needs and expectations

Tax Compliance

  • Work closely with the partnership and partner compliance team

  • Oversee the preparation and review of partnership tax returns and related filings

  • Ensure all compliance work is completed accurately and in line with UK tax regulations

  • Help clients manage their obligations efficiently and effectively

Tax Advisory & Planning

  • Support a wide range of strategic tax planning activities

  • Advise clients on transactions, restructurings, and other business changes

  • Monitor legislative and regulatory developments

  • Communicate the impact of tax changes to clients in a timely and understandable way

Team Development & Business Growth

  • Delegate work effectively and provide guidance to junior colleagues

  • Support the development of team capability through coaching and knowledge sharing

  • Contribute to business development, networking, and relationship-building activities

  • Assist with proposals, marketing initiatives, and other growth opportunities

  • Stay current with technical developments through ongoing training and updates

What We’re Looking For

This role would suit a motivated and technically strong tax professional who is comfortable balancing client service, compliance delivery, and advisory support in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

  • ACA, ACCA, CTA, or an equivalent qualification

  • Candidates working towards one of these qualifications will also be considered

  • International equivalents are welcome

Experience

  • At least 2 years of partnership tax experience

  • Proven experience managing client relationships

  • Experience contributing to the delivery of tax advisory services

Technical Knowledge

  • Strong understanding of UK partnership tax

  • A genuine interest in technical developments and evolving tax legislation

  • Overseas partnership exposure is helpful, but not required

  • Experience with inbound, US, or international clients is advantageous

Skills & Personal Attributes

  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills

  • Strong analytical ability and close attention to detail

  • Able to work effectively under tight deadlines

  • Proactive, self-motivated, and solutions-focused

  • High level of integrity and professionalism

  • Collaborative and team-oriented approach

  • Eagerness to continue learning and developing

Flexibility

  • Flexible or part-time working arrangements may be possible

  • Availability to support US time zones is important for this role
