We are currently seeking a talented tax professional to join our International Tax team in a newly created role. This is an exciting opportunity for someone looking to broaden their exposure across a diverse range of international tax matters throughout the EMEA region.


The Opportunity

This role has been created to support the International Tax team on a wide variety of tax matters across EMEA. The successful candidate will gain hands-on involvement in areas including:

  • Mergers & acquisitions

  • Business restructurings

  • Transfer pricing

  • Tax controversy

  • Special projects

  • Direct tax compliance

  • US GAAP tax reporting

This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working on complex issues, can think proactively, and is confident operating in a dynamic international environment.


What You’ll Be Doing

As part of the International Tax team, you will contribute to a broad portfolio of responsibilities, including:

  • Supporting special projects such as:

  • international business expansion

  • reorganisations and restructurings

  • mergers and acquisitions

  • Providing tax advice and guidance on international contracts, transactions, and strategic initiatives

  • Assessing the impact of new and emerging tax rules at jurisdictional, regional, and global levels

  • Managing and responding to tax authority enquiries and interventions across multiple jurisdictions

  • Assisting with the preparation of transfer pricing documentation and related tax matters

  • Partnering closely with internal teams including:

  • Finance

  • Legal

  • HR

  • Treasury

  • wider business units

  • Building strong and effective relationships with internal stakeholders and external parties, including tax authorities

  • Advising senior stakeholders across the business on a range of international tax matters

  • Assisting in the preparation and analysis of the company’s income tax provision for selected jurisdictions under:

  • US GAAP

  • local GAAP

  • Overseeing and managing direct tax filings and payment obligations in certain jurisdictions


What We’re Looking For

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Economics, Finance, or Law from an accredited college or university

  • A professional qualification such as:

  • CPA

  • CA

  • CTA

  • or equivalent

Experience

  • At least 3 years of tax experience gained in:

  • industry

  • a public accounting firm

  • or a combination of both

  • Experience in the insurance sector would be beneficial, though it is not essential

  • Knowledge of tax reporting under U.S. GAAP and/or IFRS is desirable, but not required

  • While this is primarily a direct tax role, the ability to identify related indirect tax and employee tax issues is important

  • Strong ability to research, interpret, and apply tax law to business activities and transactions

  • Excellent project management and organisational skills

  • Confident communicator with strong written and verbal communication abilities

  • Able to work effectively independently and as part of a cross-functional team

  • A natural problem-solver who is resourceful, proactive, and pragmatic

  • Comfortable handling competing priorities and meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment

  • Good judgment to know when to escalate issues or seek guidance

  • Effective at building relationships across multiple jurisdictions and functions
