About the Role

Solution Architect – UK Financial Services Tax Transformation Office

EY

Build the future of Tax transformation with EY.

At EY, we are committed to helping our people shape their future with confidence. As part of a globally connected organisation powered by diverse teams, you’ll have the opportunity to grow your career, work on meaningful challenges, and contribute to building a better working world.

The Opportunity

EY Tax is recognised as a market leader, known for driving sustainable growth, delivering high-impact client work, and creating an environment where people can develop exceptional careers.

Within this landscape, EY’s UK Financial Services Tax (UKFS) team is growing its Transformation Office to accelerate the adoption of AI, cloud technology, and digital innovation across all Tax sub-service lines.

We are looking for a Solution Architect who can play a central role in shaping and delivering modern, scalable, AI-enabled solutions that transform tax processes and unlock new value across the firm.

This is an exciting opportunity to work at the intersection of business transformation, cloud architecture, and applied AI, partnering with stakeholders across the organisation to design solutions that are practical, innovative, and measurable in impact.

About the Role

As a Solution Architect, you will be responsible for designing robust, cloud-native solutions that support the modernisation of tax services. You will translate complex business requirements into secure, scalable architectures and identify where Generative AI, machine learning, and automation can create tangible benefits.

You will work closely with business stakeholders, product managers, business analysts, programme managers, engineers, and citizen developers to bring strategic initiatives to life.

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

  • Design end-to-end cloud-native architectures that are scalable, secure, resilient, and cost-effective.

  • Develop and implement AI-enabled solutions, including AI agents and multi-agent systems using orchestration frameworks such as LangGraph, Semantic Kernel, or similar tools.

  • Establish standards and governance for agent lifecycle management, observability, safety, and responsible AI usage.

  • Provide technical leadership across architecture, coding standards, DevOps practices, and CI/CD pipelines.

  • Contribute hands-on to development where required, helping teams deliver high-quality technical outcomes.

  • Define architecture patterns and guardrails for Microsoft Power Platform, including Power Apps, Power Automate, and Power BI.

  • Integrate solutions with Azure services, enterprise data sources, and internal control frameworks.

  • Partner directly with business stakeholders to refine requirements, shape roadmaps, and define measures of success.

  • Manage technical risks, trade-offs, and delivery considerations proactively and transparently.

  • Produce high-quality architecture documentation, including solution views, decision logs, and operational runbooks.

  • Create reusable patterns and reference architectures to support consistency and scale across service lines.

  • Support non-functional testing, including performance, resilience, and security validation.

  • Implement monitoring and observability practices to drive operational excellence and continuous improvement after go-live.

  • Collaborate across multidisciplinary teams, ensuring alignment between product, delivery, and business objectives.

  • Provide clear updates to leadership on progress, opportunities, dependencies, and risks.
