The Opportunity
We are looking for a skilled and client-focused tax professional to join our Business Advisory team in Stirling. This role offers the chance to work across both compliance and advisory matters, supporting a varied portfolio of clients while collaborating closely with colleagues across the wider firm.
You will play an important role in delivering high-quality tax services, managing relationships, identifying wider tax considerations, and ensuring clients receive well-rounded, commercially focused advice.
Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will be responsible for a broad range of tax compliance and advisory work, including:
Managing annual tax return compliance for:
Companies
Individuals
Partnerships
Providing advice on:
Tax-efficient remuneration planning
Corporate tax planning
Succession planning
Capital Gains Tax (CGT)
Benefits in kind
Applying detailed knowledge of:
Income Taxes
Capital Taxes
Identifying when other taxes may be relevant, such as:
VAT
International Taxes
LBTT
Stamp Duty Taxes
Liaising with specialist colleagues outside the Business Advisory Services team to ensure clients receive comprehensive advice
Working with both the Business Advisory Services team and the Private Client management team to manage the annual compliance function for around 1,800 clients
Coordinating compliance activity across the wider firm
Preparing proposal documents for prospective clients, including:
Quoting for new work
Supporting client onboarding in line with firm processes
Managing all aspects of your client portfolio
Collaborating with internal teams and clients’ external professional networks to ensure all service needs are met
Producing and delivering:
Blogs
Technical articles
Presentations
relevant to your area of expertise
What We’re Looking For
We are seeking an experienced tax professional with strong technical capability, excellent client management skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Experience & Qualifications
A relevant professional tax qualification, such as:
CA
ATT
CTA
Previous experience in a similar role
Strong expertise in both tax compliance and advisory work
Experience working to tight deadlines and managing competing priorities
A proven track record of handling a client portfolio and building strong client relationships
Experience of managing and supporting a team
Familiarity with tax software, ideally CCH
