The Opportunity

We are seeking a talented tax professional to work closely with the Head of Personal Tax and the wider team in delivering an exceptional personal tax compliance service.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys combining technical excellence with client relationship management, while contributing to a high-performing and supportive team.


What You’ll Be Doing

In this role, you will take ownership of a varied portfolio and play an important part in ensuring clients receive a professional, accurate, and proactive service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a portfolio of clients, including:

  • High net-worth individuals

  • Company directors

  • Sole traders

  • Prepare self-assessment tax returns accurately and efficiently

  • Act as the first point of contact for client queries, offering practical advice and ongoing support

  • Build, develop, and maintain strong client relationships

  • Complete self-employed accounts and property income schedules

  • Prepare and manage a portfolio of P11D forms, ensuring all deadlines are met

  • Support clients with Making Tax Digital (MTD) for Income Tax submissions where applicable

  • Apply knowledge in areas such as:

  • Tax credits

  • Tax codes

  • Gift Aid relief claims for charities

  • HMRC compliance matters

  • Work collaboratively with the corporation tax compliance team to gather the information needed for self-assessment tax returns

  • Ensure all work is completed in line with HMRC regulations and statutory deadlines

  • Handle correspondence with HMRC on behalf of clients

  • Identify and highlight tax planning opportunities across:

  • Income tax

  • Capital gains tax

  • Inheritance tax

  • Remuneration planning

  • Property income

  • Pensions


What We’re Looking For

We are looking for someone who is technically capable, client-focused, and eager to make a meaningful contribution from day one.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience

  • Newly qualified ATT or CTA

  • Minimum of 4 years’ experience within a Private Practice Tax environment

  • Confident communicating with clients at all levels

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to write clearly and adapt tone/style as needed

  • Excellent technical understanding of UK tax legislation

  • A genuine passion for learning and maintaining up-to-date tax knowledge

  • Creative thinker with a proactive, solutions-focused approach

  • Strong organisational and time management skills

  • Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines

  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail

  • Commercially aware and confident in identifying opportunities

  • Comfortable working both independently and collaboratively

  • Strong problem-solving mindset

  • Willingness to engage in networking and business development
