The Opportunity

As an Assistant Manager in our Private Client Tax team, you will take ownership of delivering a high-quality tax compliance and advisory service to a varied client base.

This role offers the chance to combine technical expertise, client relationship management, and team leadership. You will work closely with partners and colleagues on planning projects, technical assignments, and business development initiatives, while also supporting and developing more junior team members.

How You Will Contribute

In this role, you will make a meaningful impact by:

• Managing the tax compliance process for a broad and varied portfolio of clients.

• Leading the delivery of specialist and technical tax assignments.

• Working closely with partners and directors to support business development efforts and strengthen existing client relationships.

• Coaching and developing junior team members, including reviewing their work and supporting their ongoing growth.

• Collaborating with colleagues across other departments to identify and respond to wider client needs.

• Briefing junior staff on client backgrounds and assignment requirements, while supervising workflow and providing on-the-job training where required.

We are seeking a professional who combines strong technical tax knowledge with excellent people and project management skills.

Skills and Experience

• CTA qualification is preferred, or equivalent experience in a similar role.

• Strong understanding of the tax issues affecting a range of private clients.

• Proven experience in client management and project delivery.

• Background in tax gained within a practice environment.

• Experience working across both tax compliance and advisory services.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• A genuine interest in mentoring and developing junior colleagues.
