The Opportunity

As an Assistant Manager within the Private Client Tax team, you will play a key role in delivering a first-class service to a wide range of clients. You will manage tax compliance matters, support advisory assignments, and work closely with partners and senior colleagues on planning projects and technical work.

Alongside client delivery, you will also help to develop junior team members, review their work, and contribute to wider business development initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will be responsible for:

• Managing the tax compliance process for a varied and interesting portfolio of clients.

• Delivering high-quality private client tax advisory and compliance services.

• Leading specialist technical assignments and supporting planning projects.

• Working closely with partners and directors on business development opportunities and client relationship growth.

• Reviewing the work of junior team members and ensuring high standards of delivery.

• Coaching and mentoring less experienced colleagues to support their development.

• Building strong internal relationships across departments to ensure all client needs are identified and met.

• Briefing junior staff on client matters, assignment objectives, and work expectations.

• Supervising workflows and monitoring the timely completion of assignments within budget.

• CTA qualification preferred, or equivalent experience operating at Assistant Manager level.

• A track record of producing high-quality tax work while working to budget.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

• Experience managing a portfolio of personal tax compliance and advisory assignments.

• Confidence in building and maintaining effective relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
