Join BDO’s expanding Private Client Team, where you will work with individuals, families, entrepreneurs, trusts, and businesses on complex and evolving tax matters. You will be part of a team known for its strength in supporting entrepreneurs and owner-managed businesses, backed by a respected global network. What You’ll Be Doing

As part of the Private Client Team, you will play a key role in delivering both advisory and compliance services to a diverse portfolio of clients.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Advising high net worth individuals, families, and wealth structures on complex tax matters

  • Leading succession planning projects for multi-generational families

  • Supporting the wider private client team with technical expertise across a broad range of tax issues

  • Providing advice on UK and offshore trusts, working closely with trustees and wealth advisory teams

  • Managing a portfolio of clients, including:

  • client onboarding and take-on

  • engagement control

  • billing oversight

  • identifying opportunities for additional services

  • Delivering private client compliance and advisory services with support from shared service teams

  • Assessing and managing potential risks arising from client engagements

  • Collaborating with colleagues and Partners on technical matters and risk considerations

  • Leading projects of varying size and complexity

  • Supervising, mentoring, and developing junior colleagues

  • Driving improvements, challenging existing ways of working, and championing positive change


What We’re Looking For

We are seeking a technically strong and relationship-focused professional who combines deep private client tax expertise with leadership capability and commercial awareness.

You will ideally have:

  • In-depth, up-to-date knowledge of taxation

  • Strong experience advising:

  • high net worth individuals

  • families

  • wealth protection structures

  • Proven expertise in:

  • succession planning

  • UK and offshore trusts

  • private client tax advisory and compliance

  • Experience managing a client portfolio with responsibility for:

  • engagement processes

  • billing

  • opportunity identification

  • The ability to identify and understand risk implications in client work

  • Confidence in leading assignments and managing multiple priorities

  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build trusted client relationships

  • Experience in guiding, coaching, and mentoring less experienced team members

  • A proactive approach to improving processes and influencing change

  • The confidence to take ownership of decisions and outcomes

  • Degree-level education

  • CTA and/or ACA qualification (or equivalent)
