About the Private Client Team

Our Private Client team is made up of approximately 35 professionals and 4 partners, each bringing their own area of specialism. Together, the team delivers thoughtful, commercially aware, and practical advice to high-net-worth individuals and families in the UK and internationally.

The team supports clients in structuring their affairs effectively, helping them to manage tax exposure, protect wealth, and preserve assets for future generations. Given the complexity and breadth of the work, this team operates in close collaboration with specialists from across the wider firm.

The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced and commercially minded Partner to join our specialist Private Client team. This is a key leadership opportunity for a strong private client tax adviser with a successful track record in business development, client leadership, and team growth.

This role would suit a driven Private Client specialist who is excited by the chance to contribute to the continued development of a fast-growing, highly regarded, and technically strong team.

As a Partner, you will play a central role in shaping and enhancing the firm’s Personal Tax offering, while helping to strengthen client relationships, expand market presence, and support the development of the wider team.

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will take ownership of a broad and influential remit, including leadership, client delivery, growth, and team development.

Client Leadership & Technical Delivery

• Lead a portfolio of high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth clients.

• Provide clear, high-quality technical advice across a broad range of private client tax matters.

• Oversee advisory assignments and ensure the delivery of an exceptional client experience.

• Take responsibility for planning, budgeting, delivery, recoverability, and billing across your portfolio.

Business Development & Market Growth

• Proactively promote and grow Buzzacott’s Private Client capability, both internally and externally.

• Identify and act on opportunities for cross-selling and wider value-add services.

• Spot opportunities to introduce consultancy services to existing clients.

• Maintain strong external relationships while building new networks that generate business opportunities.

• Support the team in developing the confidence and skills to identify leads, grow networks, and convert opportunities.

• Contribute to the firm’s marketing activity, including publications, campaigns, and events.

Team Leadership & Development

• Provide leadership, mentoring, and support to the Private Client team.

• Help drive the professional and personal development of team members.

• Offer technical training, guidance, and coaching across tax and management matters.

• Support the recruitment, onboarding, and training of new team members.

• Act as a visible role model, promoting high standards, collaboration, and continuous development.

Strategic Contribution

• Work with the firm’s Partner and Director Group to develop and evolve service offerings.

• Review the current team structure, resourcing, and utilisation, helping shape the future direction of the team alongside fellow partners.

• Support and implement strategies that strengthen Buzzacott’s overall Personal Tax proposition.

What We’re Looking For

We are looking for a credible and accomplished Private Client specialist who brings both deep technical expertise and the leadership capability to help grow a successful practice.

Skills & Experience

• Comprehensive knowledge of UK private client tax, including matters affecting professional practices.

• Significant, broad-based experience in Private Client tax advisory, including oversight of complex projects and budget control.

• Strong experience advising HNW and UHNW individuals.

• Proven leadership capability, including line management of senior team members.

• A strong record of developing people, both technically and professionally.

• Excellent networking, influencing, and negotiation skills.

• Commercial awareness and the ability to identify and convert new business opportunities.

• Confidence in delivering training and guidance on both tax and people management issues.

• The credibility and professionalism to serve as a role model within the team.

• A genuine commitment to developing the team’s client base, capability, and structure.
