We are seeking a Senior, Energy – International Tax to join EY’s highly regarded International Tax and Transaction Services (ITTS) practice. This is an exceptional opportunity to work at the centre of complex international tax advisory and cross-border M&A activity, with a particular focus on the fast-evolving Energy sector.

In this role, you will advise some of the world’s largest corporations on international tax planning, strategic transactions, and cross-border M&A activity. You will work alongside highly respected Partners and a high-performing team with a strong track record on market-leading deals and headline transactions.

The Opportunity
This role offers the chance to develop as a trusted international tax adviser in one of the most dynamic areas of tax. You will work with leading UK and overseas multinational groups, lawyers, banks, corporate clients, and private equity stakeholders on sophisticated and high-impact projects.
You will contribute to a broad range of international tax advisory assignments, including:
Expansion into new international markets
Cross-border M&A support, including due diligence and structuring
Pre-transaction reorganisations and post-deal integration
Legal entity and structure rationalisation
Operating model redesign
Capital structure and financing optimisation
Intellectual property ownership and relief planning
Managing tax risk arising from global legislative changes such as BEPS
Engagement, lobbying, and negotiation with tax authorities in the UK and internationally
What You’ll Be Doing
As a Senior within the team, you will support the delivery of high-quality international tax engagements while maintaining a practical, commercial, and technically strong approach.
Your responsibilities will include:
Supporting the successful delivery of international tax services engagements
Taking a professional, practical, and commercial approach to client work
Ensuring technical excellence across assignments
Building and maintaining strong client relationships
Delivering consistently high levels of client service
Identifying opportunities to enhance EY’s commercial offering
Collaborating with colleagues across teams to broaden client solutions
Supporting business development by helping to grow existing client relationships
Contributing to new client wins and new engagement opportunities

What You’ll Need
To be considered for this role, you should have:
At least 3 years’ experience in corporate tax
Some demonstrable tax advisory experience
One of the following qualifications:
ATT
ACA
CA
CTA
or equivalent breadth of knowledge
Strong technical tax capability and a genuine desire to continue developing your expertise
Ideally, you’ll also bring
Experience working on International Tax projects
Solid project management skills, including:
planning and prioritising work
meeting deadlines
monitoring your own budget
