Aramco Trading Limited (ATL) is seeking a highly capable Tax Accountant with strong financial accounting experience to join its Finance Department in London. This position sits within the Financial Accounting team and offers the opportunity to contribute to a fast-paced, globally connected energy trading business.

ATL’s London operation is part of a diverse and highly experienced global workforce with expertise spanning all areas of the oil trading market. The team supports continuous market coverage across time zones and plays an active role in hydrocarbon trading throughout Europe, Africa, and the Americas.

The company is also continuing to expand its presence in the gas sector, with growing activity in LPG and LNG trading as part of its evolving portfolio.


The Opportunity

As a Tax Accountant, you will provide essential support across tax and financial accounting processes, helping ensure compliance, accuracy, and strong financial control within a dynamic trading environment. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified finance professional who enjoys both technical tax work and broader accounting collaboration.


Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will be responsible for a range of tax and accounting activities, including:

  • Validating and reconciling indirect tax accounts before the submission of returns

  • Preparing and producing indirect tax returns

  • Preparing and accounting for UK Corporate Tax

  • Managing and reconciling direct and indirect tax balance sheet accounts

  • Supporting internal and external audit queries relating to tax and financial accounting matters

  • Liaising with key stakeholders, including:

  • Tax Authorities

  • Tax advisors

  • Group Tax

  • Internal auditors

  • External auditors

  • Providing support to the Financial Accounting team as needed


Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will combine strong technical tax knowledge with sound financial accounting experience and a proactive, detail-oriented approach.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • Fully qualified ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent professional qualification

Experience

  • Experience in an oil and gas trading environment

  • Solid background in direct and indirect tax accounting

  • Experience with employment taxes would be advantageous

  • Good working knowledge of UK and EU direct and indirect tax regulations

  • Proven experience in preparing and validating tax returns

Skills

  • Strong proficiency in:

  • Excel

  • Analytical tools

  • BI systems

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities

  • High level of attention to detail

  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise effectively

  • Comfortable working in a pressured, fast-moving environment
