The Opportunity

We are seeking a Tax Assistant to join our Tax team on a 12-month fixed-term contract. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is organised, detail-focused, and eager to build experience across tax accounting, compliance, reporting, and process improvement.

In this role, you will support the day-to-day tax accounting and administrative activities of the function, helping to ensure efficient operations and accurate reporting across a range of tax matters.


What You’ll Be Doing

As Tax Assistant, your responsibilities will include:

  • Coordinating indirect tax data extraction and balance sheet reconciliations

  • Running reports from systems such as Oracle Fusion, Zuora, and other platforms

  • Managing the submission of data to external compliance providers

  • Supporting relationships with external tax compliance partners

  • Assisting with year-end tax reporting, including key data gathering and reconciliations

  • Providing administrative support across wider tax compliance areas, including:

  • Corporate tax

  • Transfer pricing

  • Withholding taxes

  • Running reports, rolling forward working papers, and requesting information from relevant tax authorities

  • Supporting the management of online tax payments

  • Maintaining and enhancing the Tax team’s internal process documentation and tracking tools

  • Assisting the Indirect Tax Manager with process improvement activity

  • Carrying out basic testing of controls and new tools across systems such as:

  • Oracle

  • Excel

  • Power BI

  • Zuora

  • Stripe

  • Contributing to finance systems testing and enhancement work to help ensure accurate tax reporting functionality


What We’re Looking For

We are interested in hearing from candidates who can bring strong organisational ability, a collaborative mindset, and an eagerness to learn.

You’ll likely be a strong fit if you have:

  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively

  • Confidence working to a high volume of deadlines, including up to 30 submission deadlines per quarter, with support from the Indirect Tax Manager

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • A professional, approachable, and collaborative manner

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace, including:

  • Excel

  • Google Sheets

  • Visual presentation tools

  • A willingness to learn new systems and software quickly

  • A proactive, adaptable, and resourceful approach to work

  • An awareness of indirect tax compliance processes

  • An awareness of financial accounting principles


Working Arrangements

This role is based in a hybrid working environment, with:

  • 3 days per week in our King’s Cross office

  • 2 days per week working remotely

We also recognise the importance of flexibility and will consider requests for flexible working arrangements.
