The Opportunity

We are looking for an experienced and motivated Tax Senior to join our growing and forward-thinking Tax team. This is an excellent opportunity for a tax professional who is ready to deepen their technical knowledge, take greater ownership of client work, and begin developing leadership capabilities within a collaborative and supportive environment.

This role is particularly suited to someone with strong experience in Corporation Tax compliance processes and workflow, while also offering the chance to contribute to a variety of high-value advisory projects across a diverse client portfolio.

As a Tax Senior, you will play an important role in delivering high-quality client service, supporting the development of junior team members, and contributing to the wider growth of the department.


What You’ll Be Doing

In this role, you will be involved in a broad mix of compliance, advisory, client-facing, and team support responsibilities, including:

  • Preparing a wide range of tax returns, including those of varying complexity

  • Reviewing basic tax returns and other compliance documentation

  • Supporting the delivery of accurate, timely, and high-quality client work

  • Liaising with HMRC on a variety of tax matters

  • Assisting with advisory assignments and project-based work

  • Participating in client meetings to understand tax requirements and support senior colleagues with solutions

  • Identifying potential tax planning opportunities and escalating these to the management team

  • Working collaboratively with colleagues across departments to ensure excellent client outcomes

  • Mentoring and supporting junior staff where appropriate

  • Assisting with training, feedback, and day-to-day team development

  • Sharing knowledge and ideas to help the team achieve its objectives

  • Taking part in professional development activities to strengthen technical knowledge and legislative awareness

  • Contributing to business development activities, helping to promote Affinia and its services to existing and prospective clients

Your involvement in business development will be tailored to your experience and career goals through your personal development plan.


What We’re Looking For

Skills and Experience

  • Strong experience in Corporation Tax compliance

  • Solid understanding of tax laws and regulations

  • Ability to manage work both independently and as part of a team

  • Strong analytical skills with excellent attention to detail

  • Confidence communicating with a wide range of stakeholders

  • Proficiency in tax software and the Microsoft Office Suite

Qualifications

  • ATT qualified, or close to qualifying

  • If you are continuing your professional studies, Affinia will support you in completing your chartered qualifications, such as CTA
