About the Role
Roche’s Tax Specialist UK&I role sits at the core of the company’s UK and Irish tax operations, acting as the technical foundation for compliance, reporting, and business support. The position covers both direct and indirect taxes, including Corporation Tax, VAT, Plastic Packaging Tax, and PAYE Settlement Agreements, and requires close coordination with in-house teams, shared service centres, and external partners to ensure accurate and compliant tax processes.
The role also has a strong financial reporting and governance focus. The successful candidate would oversee tax inputs into monthly group reporting and annual statutory accounts, support responses to tax authority queries, and help maintain robust tax governance frameworks. In addition, the role supports wider business projects and transactions, ensuring global tax policies such as transfer pricing are translated effectively into local operations.
A key aspect of the position is using data and technology to improve tax insight and efficiency. Roche is looking for someone who can turn raw compliance data into meaningful analysis using tools such as Power BI or Tableau, while also helping the organisation adapt to legislative changes like Pillar Two and supporting ERP and tax technology enhancements.
Roche is seeking a professionally qualified tax specialist with strong UK tax expertise, ideally with some Irish tax exposure, gained either in a multinational business or a leading professional services firm. The ideal candidate will combine technical strength with commercial awareness, digital fluency, and the ability to communicate complex tax concepts clearly to non-tax stakeholders across the business.
