VAT Compliance & Advisory Opportunity at BDO

Working closely with Senior Managers, you will play an important part in helping clients navigate their VAT responsibilities with confidence and accuracy.

The Role

In this position, you will be responsible for managing VAT compliance matters for a dedicated portfolio of clients, while also contributing to a broad range of VAT advisory work as required. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who combines strong technical expertise with a proactive, client-focused mindset.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage VAT compliance for your own portfolio of clients

• Support VAT advisory work and assist Senior Managers in delivering tailored client solutions

• Identify and escalate risk issues where appropriate

• Use technology effectively to deliver efficient and accurate VAT compliance services

• Build strong working relationships with both clients and internal teams

• Collaborate across teams to ensure a high standard of service delivery

What We’re Looking For

We are seeking a professional who brings both technical capability and a collaborative approach to client service.

Skills & Experience

• Strong VAT technical expertise, including experience handling complex VAT issues

• A solid understanding of UK VAT and other indirect taxes

• Confidence using a range of technology tools, including Excel and relevant tax software

• Awareness of risk management principles, with the ability to recognise potential issues and raise them with Senior Managers

• Proven ability to develop effective relationships with clients and colleagues

• Strong communication and organisational skills

• A team-oriented mindset with the ability to work collaboratively in a professional environment
