About the Role

This Business Tax Manager role sits within Menzies LLP’s Business and Corporate Tax team at the Heathrow office and can be considered on a full-time or part-time basis. The position focuses primarily on business tax compliance, with some advisory work, and offers the opportunity to manage a portfolio of clients ranging from owner-managed businesses to larger corporates. The role is positioned as a key hire for a growing team, with responsibility for delivering high-quality service while helping clients navigate tax issues in a practical and commercially aware way.

The successful candidate will be expected to build strong client relationships, ensure compliance obligations are met, and identify areas where Menzies can provide additional support. Alongside portfolio management, the role involves contributing to advisory work on matters such as succession planning, remuneration planning, capital expenditure timing, and capital allowances. There is also an emphasis on spotting tax planning opportunities, mitigating risk, and working across service lines so that clients receive a proactive and joined-up service.

The role includes an internal people dimension, with responsibility for helping to train, mentor, and support junior members of the Business Tax team. The successful hire will also need to ensure that the firm’s technical, ethical, risk, and compliance procedures are consistently followed. Menzies highlights its collaborative and people-focused culture, with agile working, career development support, and a broad benefits package designed to support employee wellbeing and progression.

Applicants should be a qualified accountant and/or CIOT-qualified tax adviser with relevant post-qualification experience in tax. Strong corporate tax technical knowledge is required, as well as a good understanding of issues affecting owner-managed businesses and their shareholders. Knowledge of tax matters impacting smaller large and international clients, UK accounting standards, and the ability to interpret accounts and financial information are also important. Familiarity with wider business taxes, tax reporting processes, and Alphatax would be advantageous but is not essential.
