The Opportunity

As an SME Tax Manager, you will sit at the intersection of tax technical expertise, product development, and go-to-market strategy. You’ll serve as a key subject matter authority within Taxbit’s SME team, helping translate highly technical reporting requirements into practical solutions that drive business outcomes.

This is a highly cross-functional role where you will act as:

  • A technical advisor for the Go-To-Market (GTM) team

  • A strategic partner during client implementations

  • A core contributor to the logic behind our AEOI product suite

The ideal candidate brings strong expertise in:

  • IRS Chapter 3 & 4 (FATCA)

  • CRS

  • CARF

  • Domestic information reporting, including 1099 and 1042-S series

You will be expected to turn regulatory complexity into:

  • Clear product requirements

  • Practical implementation guidance

  • Compelling commercial narratives


Location & Eligibility Requirements

This role is open only to candidates who currently reside in Singapore and are legally authorized to work in Singapore, such as holders of a valid Employment Pass or Permanent Resident status.

This position also requires on-site availability and alignment with local business operations.

Mandarin language skills are preferred to support communication with Mandarin-speaking clients and stakeholders.


What You’ll Be Responsible For

1) Go-To-Market & Commercial Strategy

You will play a critical role in helping Taxbit grow its market presence by supporting commercial teams with high-value tax expertise.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Partnering directly with Sales and Business Development to support go-to-market expansion

  • Creating enablement materials and delivering training on emerging tax and reporting regulations

  • Joining conversations with prospects to help accelerate or expand strategic and high-value deals

  • Collaborating with Marketing to develop:

  • White papers

  • Webinars

  • Thought-leadership content

  • Providing insight on regulatory developments such as:

  • CARF

  • 1099-DA

  • DAC7 updates

  • Monitoring the regulatory environment to identify market opportunities and strengthen Taxbit’s product positioning


2) Client Success & Implementations

You will work closely with implementation and customer-facing teams to ensure clients receive accurate, practical, and high-quality support throughout their journey with Taxbit.

In this area, you will:

  • Partner with Customer Operations to support engagements and implementations across the Tax Enterprise Platform

  • Provide internal and customer-facing support during peak filing periods

  • Troubleshoot complex filing issues and interpret IRS and global jurisdictional schemas

  • Lead workshops for the Customer Success team to deepen understanding of:

  • Withholding rules

  • Reporting nuances

  • Jurisdictional requirements

  • Build a strong understanding of client businesses, processes, and products through proactive discovery and communication

  • Collaborate with Engineering and Product teams to ensure:

  • Accurate data integrations

  • Complete and reliable client data


3) Product Logic & AEOI Development

You will be instrumental in shaping the tax logic behind Taxbit’s Automatic Exchange of Information solutions and ensuring product outputs meet regulatory expectations.

Your contributions will include:

  • Supporting the Product Team in defining and documenting business requirements for the AEOI engine

  • Ensuring the software correctly applies rules and produces compliant outputs for:

  • FATCA

  • CRS

  • Working closely with Product Managers to prioritize features around:

  • Upcoming regulatory deadlines

  • Global reporting changes

  • Validating product outputs such as:

  • Forms 1099

  • Forms 1042-S

  • XML filings

  • Helping ensure all reporting outputs meet the rigorous standards expected by tax authorities globally


What We’re Looking For

Required Qualifications

  • 5–8 years of income tax experience in public accounting or industry

  • A degree in accounting

  • CPA certification

Core Skills & Strengths

  • Exceptional organizational and project management skills

  • Ability to manage multiple workstreams and synthesize varied information effectively

  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving capability

  • High attention to detail and a thorough, structured approach

  • A collaborative, hands-on mindset with the willingness to contribute immediately

  • A strong work ethic, positive attitude, and eagerness to learn and grow

  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and confidently own responsibilities

Technical & Analytical Experience

  • Experience working with data and using analytical tools to organize and normalize information for solution development

  • Advanced Excel proficiency is essential

  • Working knowledge of the following is a plus:

  • SQL

  • VBA

  • Alteryx

  • Other business intelligence tools

Industry Mindset

  • A strong desire to stay current on emerging industry issues, news, and best practices

  • Interest in developing expertise across:

  • Digital assets

  • Accounting

  • Finance
