The Opportunity
We are looking for an Associate Director to join our Corporate Tax team in Nottingham, Cambridge, or Leicester.
This is a fantastic opportunity to take on a senior role within a high-performing national tax team, working with an impressive and diverse portfolio of clients. You will support businesses ranging from owner-managed companies and entrepreneurial mid-market organisations to large multinational groups, helping them navigate both compliance requirements and complex advisory matters.
You’ll play a central role in delivering exceptional service, leading on technical matters, and identifying opportunities to deepen client relationships and grow the wider business.
About the Corporate Tax Team
Our national corporate tax service line supports clients across a wide variety of sectors and business structures. We manage tax compliance obligations while also acting as trusted advisers on more strategic matters.

Tax planning and advisory support

Business restructuring

Complex technical tax matters

What You’ll Be Doing
As an Associate Director, you will take ownership of a varied client portfolio, including clients with more complex tax affairs. You’ll combine technical excellence with strong relationship management, ensuring clients receive proactive, high-quality advice.
Key responsibilities include:
Managing a portfolio of corporate tax clients and acting as a key point of contact
Delivering complex compliance work to a high standard
Reviewing tax computations and work prepared by junior team members
Advising clients on a range of technical corporate tax issues
Supporting and contributing to advisory projects across areas such as transactions and restructuring
Working closely with partners and directors across service lines to deliver joined-up client solutions
Identifying opportunities for further work and helping to grow existing client relationships
Contributing to proposals, networking, and business development activity in the local market
Supporting and developing junior colleagues within the team

Taking ownership of client relationships and delivering a consistently excellent service
Providing practical, value-adding advice tailored to each client’s commercial objectives
Collaborating with partners and directors across multiple service lines
Supporting regional business development efforts and helping bring RSM’s expertise to market

Skills and experience required:
ACA qualified (or equivalent)
CTA qualified preferred, or able to demonstrate strong tax advisory experience
Proven experience in a client-facing or customer-facing role
Strong background in corporate tax compliance, including preparing and reviewing tax computations
Comprehensive technical corporate tax knowledge
Demonstrable experience in tax advisory work across technical matters
Strong experience in managing clients and handling a busy portfolio
Interest and experience in business development, with the ability to convert relationships into fee-paying work
Significant experience operating at Manager level or in a similar role, or clear evidence of the capability required to step into an Associate Director position
