Liberty Global is seeking an experienced and commercially minded Senior Manager, Corporate Tax Strategy to join our in-house Corporate Tax Advisory team in Chelsea, London. This is an exciting opportunity for a high-calibre tax professional to take on a strategic role spanning UK and international tax matters, including cross-border planning, structuring, compliance, and transaction support.
You will work closely with Tax Directors, senior stakeholders, and cross-functional teams, while also helping to coach and develop junior colleagues. The role offers exposure to a dynamic and evolving business portfolio across TMT, Digital Infrastructure, Content, and AI.
About the Role
As Senior Manager, Corporate Tax Strategy, you will play a key role in shaping and protecting Liberty Global’s tax position. You will provide high-quality technical guidance, support major business initiatives, and partner with teams across Finance, Treasury, Legal, Accounting, and M&A to deliver practical, value-driven tax solutions.
This is a highly visible opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced, international environment and is ready to take ownership of complex projects and strategic tax workstreams.
Key Responsibilities
UK Tax Strategy & Technical Advisory
Optimise Liberty Global’s consolidated UK tax position
Provide technical advice on complex UK tax matters, including:
Leases
CFC
CIR
SBCE
and other key tax issues
Ensure Tax Technical Memos are prepared to support quarterly reporting requirements
Support management of the UK tax position, including:
Safeguarding CFC and hybrid mismatch exposures
Mitigating FX tax exposures arising from intercompany loans
Reviewing documentation and assessments relating to:
IMOC
WHT
CIR
DPT
Cash Tax Forecasting
Lead and project manage tax forecasting across Liberty Global Group entities and Operating Companies
Coordinate submissions and work closely with:
Capital Allocation
Treasury
Transfer Pricing
Prepare UK tax forecasts and define assumptions that support scenario planning
Help ensure tax forecasting is robust, accurate, and aligned with broader business planning
Project, Transaction & International Tax Support
Provide technical tax support across a wide range of multi-jurisdictional projects
Partner with Finance and M&A teams on:
Tax modelling
Structuring
Key tax considerations during project evaluation
Prepare and oversee tax due diligence reports
Identify tax risks and opportunities across transactions
Support the business throughout the full transaction lifecycle
Deliver clear, practical tax recommendations to key stakeholders within acquiring group companies
Business Partnership & Strategic Input
Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders across:
Treasury
Legal
Accounting
M&A
Develop innovative, sustainable, and commercially focused tax solutions
Research and review complex tax concepts in support of strategic business initiatives
Assess project-related tax modelling and interactions with:
Existing tax positions
Future tax positions by jurisdiction
Pillar 2
Transfer Pricing
Work with external advisers to maintain and refresh benchmark studies
Ensure current transfer pricing models remain effective and fit for purpose
Review Local File and Master File documentation prepared by the Liberty Blume Shared Service Centre
Take a strategic lead on transfer pricing initiatives, including:
(B)APAs
Transfer pricing impacts arising from M&A activity
Team Development
Support the training, coaching, and development of junior team members
Contribute to a collaborative, high-performing tax function
What We’re Looking For
We are looking for a tax professional with strong technical expertise, excellent commercial judgement, and the confidence to operate in a broad strategic role.
Qualifications & Experience
Chartered accountancy qualification such as:
CIMA
ACA
And/or a recognised tax qualification (preferred)
Experience gained in:
a Big 4 or Top 10 firm at Senior Manager level
or as an experienced Manager
or within a comparable in-house or advisory environment
Deep understanding of UK and international tax principles
Strong awareness of current and emerging tax developments across:
OECD
EU
US
and other relevant jurisdictions
Personal Attributes
