The Opportunity

We’re seeking an **EMEA Tax Specialist** to join the **Europe Finance Team** within **Flight Centre (UK) Limited**, the UK subsidiary of Flight Centre Travel Group Limited.

This is a broad and hands-on role focused on managing **tax compliance** across Flight Centre Travel Group entities and branches throughout the **Europe, Middle East & Africa (EMEA)** region.

The territories within scope include:

  • United Kingdom

  • Ireland

  • The Netherlands

  • Sweden

  • Denmark

  • Norway

  • Finland

  • Germany

  • France

  • Switzerland

  • Spain

  • United Arab Emirates

  • Saudi Arabia

  • South Africa

You will work closely with local finance teams supporting tax compliance activities and will report directly to the **EMEA Senior Tax Manager**, who oversees all EMEA tax matters and manages the relationship with **HMRC**.

You’ll also be part of a wider tax network, working alongside the **Global Tax Team** based in **Brisbane, Australia**, who provide support in areas such as:

  • Transfer pricing

  • Tax strategy

  • Risk management

The EMEA Tax team also maintains a strong functional reporting line to the **Head of Global Tax**, giving this role excellent global exposure.


Key Responsibilities

As the **EMEA Tax Specialist**, you will play a key role in ensuring tax compliance and supporting tax-related activities across multiple jurisdictions.

Your responsibilities are likely to include:

  • Managing tax compliance activities across the EMEA region

  • Supporting group companies and branches with local tax obligations

  • Working closely with finance teams in multiple countries

  • Researching and interpreting tax legislation and case law

  • Applying sound tax knowledge to practical business situations

  • Supporting tax reporting and provisioning processes

  • Contributing to tax risk management and strategy initiatives

  • Collaborating with internal stakeholders across local, regional, and global teams

  • Taking ownership of projects and driving them through to completion


What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for a technically strong and commercially minded tax professional who thrives in a fast-paced, international environment.

Qualifications & Experience

  • ACA or CTA qualified

  • 0–3 years’ post-qualified experience in:

  • an in-house corporate tax or indirect tax role, or

  • a reputable professional services firm

  • UK tax experience is essential, including VAT

  • Travel industry experience would be advantageous

  • Advanced Excel skills are essential

  • Experience with tax provisioning software would be beneficial

Knowledge & Skills

  • Strong technical tax knowledge with the ability to research and apply legislation and case law

  • Commercial awareness and the ability to deliver pragmatic, business-focused solutions

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving ability

  • Comfortable working in a dynamic and changing environment

  • Highly organised, detail-oriented, and able to work independently

  • Professional, collaborative, and a strong team player

  • Able to take ownership of work and see projects through to completion

  • Willingness and ability to travel for meetings, conferences, and company events


Travel Requirements

This role includes some travel. You’ll be expected to attend internal events in London such as:

  • Internal conferences

  • Downloads

  • Buzz nights

There may also be **ad hoc travel** to Flight Centre Travel Group offices across the EMEA region.
