About the Team

Our National Employer Solutions team is a forward-thinking and specialist group focused on three core areas:

  • Domestic Employment Tax

  • Global Employer Services

  • Share Plan and Reward

With a network of 100 specialists across the UK, the team delivers practical, tailored advice to clients facing increasingly complex workforce and employment tax challenges.

From supporting compliance and governance to helping businesses manage global mobility and reward strategies, the team plays a key role in helping clients operate effectively in an evolving regulatory landscape.


The Opportunity

We are seeking an Employment Tax Associate Director to join our growing national team. This role can be based in one of our national offices, including:

  • Birmingham

  • Leeds

  • London

  • Cambridge

  • Gatwick

  • Bristol

  • Guildford

  • Reading

  • Southampton

We are also happy to consider applications from candidates located near any of our UK offices, as we continue to strengthen our national approach.

This position is ideal for someone who is passionate about the technical and commercial challenges of employment tax and who wants to develop their career in an environment where both expertise and individuality are valued.


How You’ll Make an Impact

In this role, you will play an important part in driving client success and supporting the continued growth of the team. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Collaborating with a national team of experts to deliver innovative and high-quality employment tax solutions

  • Supporting a diverse client portfolio, including:

  • FTSE 100 businesses

  • Large overseas-parented subsidiaries

  • Private equity-backed organisations

  • Founder-led and fast-growth companies

  • Advising on key employment tax matters, such as:

  • Employment tax risk and governance

  • Off-payroll working

  • National Minimum Wage

  • Payrolling of benefits

  • Broader employment tax compliance and advisory issues

  • Using your technical knowledge in a practical, commercial way to help raise standards and deliver value-led outcomes

  • Contributing to team development by supporting and mentoring colleagues

  • Helping foster an inclusive, collaborative, and innovative team culture


What We’re Looking For

Key skills and experience:

  • CTA qualified or equivalent, or qualified by experience

  • Strong specialism in Employment Tax

  • Good understanding of Global Mobility

  • Ability to manage and advise on complex tax issues

  • Strong interpersonal skills with an open, approachable, and collaborative style

  • Proven ability to lead, develop, and manage people

  • A genuine interest in identifying and nurturing talent within teams

  • A coaching mindset, with the ambition to support RSM’s “grow our own” culture
