The Opportunity
We are looking for an experienced and motivated Manager to join our Alternative Funds Tax team in London.
This team delivers a broad range of tax compliance, advisory, and transaction services to alternative funds and their investment managers across multiple asset classes, including:
Private equity
Venture capital
Private debt
Hedge funds
Real estate
Infrastructure
Crypto assets
Our clients represent the full spectrum of the asset management world, including:
Traditional asset managers
Financial services institutions
Private equity funds
Alternative investors
Real estate businesses
Wealth managers
Hedge funds
UK pension funds
Global institutional investors
As part of the wider Financial Services Tax team, you will work within a practice that supports clients across:
Wealth and Asset Management
Banking and Capital Markets
Insurance
This is a compliance-led role, but the fast-moving nature of the alternative funds sector means you will also gain exposure to structuring, transactions, investor reporting, and advisory projects both in the UK and internationally.
What You’ll Be Doing
As an Alternative Funds Tax Manager, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality service to a varied and sophisticated client base.
Your responsibilities will include:
Managing the full suite of tax compliance for asset managers and the funds they manage
Overseeing compliance across:
Trading corporates
Trading partnerships
Investment partnerships
Investor reporting engagements
Working directly with UK and international asset managers to support their tax compliance obligations
Ensuring a smooth and efficient compliance process for clients
Taking ownership of key operational matters such as:
Financial management
Billing
Debtor management
Building and strengthening client relationships alongside the senior leadership and partner group
Supporting the delivery of standalone advisory assignments
Producing high-quality client deliverables with early responsibility and autonomy
Developing your commercial understanding of:
Alternative investment management
Tax issues affecting the sector
Supporting business development activity, including:
Identifying opportunities within existing clients
Helping grow key relationships
Contributing to winning new work
Acting as a role model and coach for junior team members
Contributing to team development through coaching, mentoring, and upskilling
Working collaboratively within a high-performing specialist financial services team

What We’re Looking For
To succeed in this role, you will need to bring strong technical capability, a client-focused mindset, and the confidence to manage a portfolio in a dynamic environment.
Minimum requirements
A professional qualification such as:
CTA
ACA
ACCA
or equivalent
Confidence in managing a portfolio of clients
We’d also love to see experience in some of the following areas
Strong UK tax technical expertise
A genuine interest in the asset management sector
Experience working with one or more alternative asset classes, such as:
Private equity
Venture capital
Private credit
or similar
This is preferred, but not essential.
A blend of corporate and partnership tax compliance experience
A track record of leading projects with accountability and a focus on quality and timely delivery
A self-motivated, proactive approach
The ability to work effectively as a strong team player
Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
Familiarity with systems and tools such as:
Alpha Tax
CCH Personal Tax
Power BI
Microsoft Office
and other relevant software
Experience in coaching and developing junior team members
