We are seeking an experienced and commercially minded Indirect Tax professional to join the team and help guide global VAT/GST strategy, advisory, and operational excellence.
About the Opportunity
This role sits within Stripe’s international tax function and focuses on Indirect Tax Advisory for the company’s global entities.
You will partner across teams to advise on the taxability of new products, support interactions with tax authorities, contribute to process improvements, and work closely with compliance, accounting, product, and engineering stakeholders.

What You’ll Be Doing
As a key member of the international indirect tax team, you will:
Serve as a subject matter expert on global VAT/GST matters for business and finance teams across Stripe
Support international growth initiatives by advising on indirect tax implications of expansion into new markets
Assess the taxability of new products and services, helping Stripe bring solutions to market with the right tax framework in place
Partner with compliance and accounting teams to support VAT/GST reporting and enhance indirect tax compliance processes
Assist in managing indirect tax audits and other matters involving tax authorities across multiple jurisdictions
Collaborate with product and engineering teams to define requirements and help design tax-related solutions for Stripe users
Contribute to policy and legislative analysis, keeping stakeholders informed of international indirect tax developments
Promote tax awareness across the business through training, communication, and collaboration with internal partners
Translate complex tax concepts into clear, practical guidance for non-tax audiences and senior stakeholders
What We’re Looking For
We are looking for a confident, collaborative, and detail-oriented professional who can operate effectively in a fast-moving international environment.
Minimum Requirements
4–6 years of relevant indirect tax experience, with strong knowledge of applicable laws and regulations
Bachelor’s degree plus a professional qualification in tax or law
Experience gained in-house within a multinational organisation, alongside experience in a legal or accountancy firm
Strong understanding of indirect tax issues affecting digital services and physical goods
Accounting knowledge and proficiency with ERP systems and data analytics tools
Ability to communicate clearly and concisely with stakeholders at all levels of the business
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Proven project management capability, with a high level of ownership and attention to detail
Ability to extract, analyse, and interpret data, and make sound recommendations
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, informal, and often ambiguous environment
Demonstrated willingness to learn quickly and build knowledge rapidly
Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team
Preferred Qualifications
An advanced degree
Experience in technology, payments, or financial services
Background in a high-growth or rapidly scaling business
A genuine enthusiasm for working with a smart, collaborative team that cares deeply about Stripe’s tax challenges and each other
Working Style & Location
This role is based in Dublin or London and reports to the International Indirect Tax Advisory Lead.
Stripe operates with a hybrid approach to in-office work. In most locations, employees assigned to an office are expected to spend at least 50% of their time each month in their local office or with users.
Depending on the team, role, and location, in-office expectations may vary. The hiring manager will provide more detail during the interview process.

Compensation & Benefits
The annual salary range for this role in the primary location is:
€69,400 – €104,200 annually
This range may vary depending on location, experience, qualifications, and level determined during the interview process.
For candidates applying from outside the primary location, Stripe can provide the relevant salary range during the interview process.
