About the Opportunity

Our National Innovation & Capital Tax Reliefs Team in London supports an impressive portfolio of clients ranging from ambitious start-ups to established multinational organisations.

Working across sectors such as manufacturing, engineering, life sciences, software, and digital technology, the team helps businesses identify qualifying activity and prepare successful Research & Development (R&D) tax relief claims.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Innovation Reliefs Manager to join a specialist team that is growing rapidly and delivering high-value, technically rewarding work.

What You’ll Be Doing

In this role, you will play a key part in supporting clients, leading engagements, and driving high-quality claim preparation from start to finish.

Key responsibilities include:

• Designing and developing claim methodologies for R&D tax relief submissions to HMRC

• Managing the preparation of claims, ensuring they are accurate, robust, and commercially aligned

• Leading discussions with client technical and finance teams to identify qualifying R&D activities and expenditure

• Advising clients on R&D tax relief matters, helping them understand eligibility and maximise claim value

• Producing clear, compelling technical narratives describing client projects for inclusion in reports

• Identifying and leading business development opportunities, including pitching to new and existing clients

• Keeping engagement teams informed on progress, risks, and issues that may impact client relationships

• Collaborating closely with colleagues across the London region and the wider national Innovation Reliefs team

• Deep knowledge of Innovation Reliefs

• Strong understanding of UK R&D tax incentives and related tax technical matters

• Experience with a range of claim methodologies, including awareness of sector-specific challenges

• A clear, concise, and professional writing style, particularly for technical documentation

• Proven experience preparing and submitting R&D tax relief claims across multiple sectors

• Experience responding to HMRC enquiries with confidence and technical accuracy

• The ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining quality and deadlines

• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
