The Opportunity
Based in either Birmingham or Nottingham, this role sits within a fast-moving and collaborative Corporate Tax team that supports a wide range of UK-headquartered businesses and international groups across multiple sectors.
You will advise clients on significant tax issues arising from growth, change, and transformation, including:
Market entry strategies and expansion into new business areas
Business reorganisations, refinancings, and cash repatriation planning
Tax authority enquiries and dispute management
Pre- and post-transaction reorganisations
The tax impact of major international developments, including BEPS Pillar 2
This position offers a hybrid working model, with time spent in the office or on client site at least twice per week, alongside flexibility to work in a way that supports both performance and wellbeing.
What You’ll Be Doing
As a Senior Manager, you will play a central role in both client delivery and team leadership. Your responsibilities will include:
Client Advisory & Project Leadership
Working closely with Partners and Directors to deliver technically strong, practical advice on complex assignments
Leading high-value tax advisory projects that influence key client decisions
Managing cross-functional and international teams to ensure quality delivery across borders
Relationship Management
Building strong, trusted relationships with clients
Developing a deep understanding of client businesses to identify opportunities for broader advisory support
Acting as a senior point of contact on key engagements
Compliance Oversight
Overseeing the delivery of corporate tax compliance services
Ensuring work is completed accurately, efficiently, and to a high professional standard
Team Leadership & Development
Supporting the effective running of the team, including resource planning and workflow management
Coaching and mentoring junior team members to help them grow professionally
Creating a culture of learning, collaboration, and accountability
Business Development
Identifying and pursuing new opportunities with both existing and prospective clients
Supporting Partners and Directors in business development activity and growth initiatives
Quality, Risk & Financial Management
Maintaining high standards of risk management and engagement quality
Managing client financials with care and commercial awareness
Exercising sound judgement and escalating issues where appropriate

What We’re Looking For
We are seeking a commercially minded and technically strong tax professional who combines leadership ability with a genuine passion for client service.
Essential Requirements
CTA, ACA / CA, or an equivalent professional qualification
Strong knowledge of UK corporation tax
Good awareness of wider tax and accounting principles
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving ability
Proven project management and team collaboration experience
Ability to manage multiple clients, assignments, and competing priorities
Confidence in identifying risks and applying sound professional judgement
A proactive approach to mentoring and developing junior colleagues
Commitment to ongoing technical learning in a changing tax environment
