Join Leyton as a Senior Tax Consultant and play a key role in delivering high-quality R&D and Innovation Tax services to a diverse client portfolio. This is an exciting opportunity for a commercially aware and client-focused tax professional who enjoys building strong relationships, working collaboratively, and staying at the forefront of tax legislation and industry developments.


About the Role

As a Senior Tax Consultant, you will take ownership of a portfolio of clients, supporting them with their R&D Tax Credit claims and providing expert guidance on the financial elements of the claims process. Working closely with Leyton’s technical consultants, you will help prepare robust submissions for HMRC while ensuring an excellent client experience throughout.

This role offers a strong level of autonomy, making it ideal for someone who is confident managing relationships with senior stakeholders and thrives in a fast-paced, consultative environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and develop your own portfolio of clients within the R&D and Innovation Tax space.
  • Prepare and support the financial aspects of R&D Tax Credit claims.
  • Collaborate closely with technical consultants to produce high-quality claim submissions for HMRC.
  • Build trusted relationships with client decision-makers and key stakeholders.
  • Provide consultative support to clients on Corporation Tax matters, particularly in relation to R&D Tax.
  • Monitor and interpret relevant legislative updates and industry developments to ensure advice remains accurate and current.

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for a motivated and analytical professional who combines technical knowledge with strong communication and relationship-building skills.

Essential Experience

  • At least 2 years’ experience in a client-facing role, ideally within a consulting environment.
  • Experience working with UK Corporation Tax.
  • Ideally, exposure to R&D Tax or Innovation Tax incentives.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Relevant accounting or tax qualifications are welcomed, though not essential, such as:
  • Accounting & Finance BSc
  • ACA
  • ACCA
  • ATT
  • CTA

  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving ability.
  • Confident and professional communication skills.
  • The ability to influence, collaborate, and build rapport with a wide range of stakeholders.

Salary & Reward Package

  • On-Target Earnings (OTE): £64,000*
