About the Role

Senior Tax Manager

Join Thrivin and Shape a Global Tax Function

Thrivin is a rapidly growing international business with operations and entities across the Netherlands, Cyprus, and the United Kingdom, alongside an expanding presence in additional markets.

As the business grows in scale and complexity, tax is no longer simply a compliance requirement — it is a core strategic function. It plays a critical role in how we structure our business, manage intercompany pricing, navigate international regulations, and support commercial decision-making.

We are now seeking an experienced Senior Tax Manager to take full ownership of Thrivin’s global tax agenda and work closely with teams across Finance, Legal, Treasury, People, and the wider business.

About the Role

This is a high-impact, in-house leadership role for a tax professional who combines strong technical expertise with commercial judgement.

As Senior Tax Manager, you will oversee Thrivin’s global tax position across direct tax, indirect tax, transfer pricing, international tax, and entity structuring. You will ensure compliance across all jurisdictions while also helping to shape how the business grows, operates, and transacts internationally.

You will serve as the main point of contact for external tax advisors, auditors, and tax authorities, and will be trusted to operate with a high degree of autonomy, ownership, and strategic influence.

What You’ll Be Responsible For

Direct Tax

  • Lead corporate income tax compliance across all group entities, coordinating preparation, review, and timely filing with external advisors

  • Manage current and deferred tax calculations for statutory reporting and group consolidation

  • Deliver effective tax rate (ETR) analysis and support forecasting activities

  • Track changes in global tax legislation, including OECD Pillar Two, BEPS initiatives, and local corporate tax reforms, and assess their impact on the group

  • Oversee tax audits, authority queries, and formal correspondence

Indirect Tax

  • Own VAT/GST and indirect tax compliance in every jurisdiction where Thrivin has obligations

  • Review the tax treatment of new products, services, and business models, including place-of-supply considerations

  • Manage registrations, deregistrations, and ongoing reporting

  • Ensure invoicing processes and systems are configured correctly for indirect tax compliance

  • Support customs duties and other transaction taxes where relevant

International & Cross-Border Tax

  • Advise on the tax consequences of international expansion, cross-border transactions, and evolving operating models

  • Manage risks related to permanent establishment, withholding taxes, and treaty application

  • Partner with People/HR on global mobility and employment tax matters where required

  • Stay ahead of key international developments such as Pillar Two, BEPS, and EU tax directives, translating complex updates into practical business actions

Transfer Pricing

  • Take ownership of the group’s transfer pricing framework, including design, implementation, monitoring, and regular review

  • Prepare and maintain transfer pricing documentation such as:

  • Master File

  • Local Files

  • Country-by-Country Reporting

  • Set and review intercompany pricing for goods, IP, and financing arrangements

  • Ensure all intercompany agreements are in place and aligned with commercial reality and operating substance

  • Lead transfer pricing audits, benchmarking exercises, and advisor coordination

Entity Structure & Transactions

  • Maintain a clear and current view of the group’s legal entity structure and tax attributes

  • Advise on:

  • Entity rationalisation

  • New entity formation

  • Dissolutions and restructuring

  • Support tax aspects of:

  • M&A activity

  • Fundraising rounds

  • Internal reorganisations

  • Work closely with Legal on intercompany agreements, IP ownership, and substance considerations

Business Partnering & External Stakeholder Management

  • Act as the day-to-day lead for external tax advisors across multiple jurisdictions

  • Define scopes of work, manage budgets, and review deliverables with a critical eye

  • Partner with Finance, Legal, Treasury, People, and commercial teams to ensure tax is considered early in key decisions

  • Present tax matters clearly and confidently to senior audiences, including the CFO, audit committee, and external auditors

What We’re Looking For

Essential Experience & Skills

  • Qualified tax professional — CTA, ADIT, ACA/ACCA with a strong tax specialism, or local equivalent

  • 5–8 years’ relevant tax experience, ideally combining Big 4 or top-tier advisory training with in-house experience in a multinational or high-growth environment

  • Strong, hands-on tax experience across the Netherlands, Cyprus, and the UK

  • Proven expertise in cross-border tax matters involving these and other jurisdictions

  • Deep technical knowledge spanning:

  • Direct tax

  • Indirect tax

  • Transfer pricing

  • International tax

  • Experience owning a tax function or a significant part of one, including improving processes, controls, and documentation

  • Demonstrated ability to manage external advisors effectively and deliver outcomes through them

  • Confidence operating in environments with ambiguity, pace, and evolving priorities

  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex tax concepts to non-specialist stakeholders

  • Comfortable working fully remotely across multiple time zones

  • A highly self-directed, proactive, and commercially minded approach

Desirable

  • Experience with Pillar Two readiness or implementation

  • Exposure to M&A, fundraising, or group reorganisation projects

  • Experience in a business with multi-entity, cross-border intercompany flows

  • Familiarity with ERP/finance systems such as NetSuite and tax engines

Why Join Thrivin?

This is an opportunity to step into a role where tax is genuinely valued as a strategic discipline.

At Thrivin, you will have direct visibility with the CFO and senior leadership team, giving you the chance to influence real business decisions rather than simply maintain a compliance framework.

You will join at a stage where you can build, shape, and elevate the tax function as the company scales internationally.

What We Offer

  • A strategic, high-visibility role with direct leadership exposure

  • The opportunity to design and shape the tax function in a scaling international business

  • Competitive salary

  • Performance-linked bonus

  • Equity participation

  • Fully remote working

  • Generous leave

  • A collaborative, high-trust culture
