As part of its continued ambition to become Ireland’s most trusted and sustainable business, Musgrave is seeking a talented Tax Analyst to join its Finance Tax team. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a commercially focused environment where you will gain exposure to a broad range of tax matters, reporting activities, and strategic business initiatives.
About the Role
As a key member of Musgrave’s tax function, you will support the management of the Group’s tax compliance and tax risk responsibilities while also providing tax guidance across the wider business. This position offers variety, visibility, and the chance to contribute to important commercial decisions in a dynamic and evolving organisation.
You will work closely with colleagues across finance and commercial teams, support tax reporting and governance processes, and help manage relationships with tax authorities. This role is ideal for a tax professional who enjoys both technical detail and practical business partnering.
Key Responsibilities
Tax Compliance & Risk Management
Support and manage the Group’s Corporation Tax compliance obligations
Prepare and submit Corporation Tax Returns for ROI and UK entities
Oversee and monitor tax payment deadlines
Respond to and manage Revenue and HMRC enquiries relating to Corporation Tax Returns
Assist with the Group’s Pillar II obligations
Support transfer pricing requirements across the Group
Provide tax advice and guidance to divisional teams across multiple tax heads
Help strengthen tax awareness and compliance capability throughout the business
Keep up to date with relevant tax legislation, regulations, and Revenue/HMRC practice
Business Partnering & Commercial Support
Support Finance and Commercial teams with tax advice on a range of business initiatives and projects
Provide guidance on commercial activities, including property and store acquisitions and disposals
Assist with ad-hoc tax consultancy projects across the Group
Support tax structuring projects, including:
implementation
documentation
risk mitigation
Contribute to tax due diligence for potential acquisitions
Assist with the tax integration of newly acquired businesses
Tax Reporting & Governance
Support tax reporting requirements for:
quarterly forecasts
3-year planning
year-end close and audit
Assist with preparation of tax disclosures for:
the annual Group accounts
all Group statutory entities
What We’re Looking For
Musgrave is looking for a motivated and technically strong tax professional who can combine sound judgement, attention to detail, and strong relationship-building skills.
Qualifications & Experience
Fully qualified Institute of Tax Chartered Tax Advisor
Professional Accountancy qualification is desirable but optional
3–4 years’ experience in a Big 4 environment
Working knowledge of Alphatax is desirable
Skills & Attributes
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Highly organised, structured, and methodical
Strong deadline management and attention to detail
Ability to manage a diverse and complex workload
Confidence in interpreting tax legislation and regulations and translating them into practical business guidance
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build and manage relationships across the Group and with external stakeholders
