About the Team

EY’s Financial Services Tax practice delivers tax advisory, transaction, and compliance services to a broad range of clients across the financial services sector, including some of the world’s largest multinational institutions, corporations, and investment funds.

Due to increasing demand from London-based clients, our U.S. Tax Compliance Reporting team continues to grow. Our London team includes more than 50 U.S.-qualified tax professionals who specialise in serving the asset management industry, with a focus on:

  • Hedge funds

  • Private equity funds

  • Real estate funds

  • Management companies

This is a collaborative, fast-moving, and ambitious team looking for motivated individuals who are ready to contribute, learn, and grow.


The Opportunity

As a U.S. Tax Associate within EY’s Financial Services Tax team, you will support the delivery of tax compliance services to a sophisticated client base in the asset management sector.

This role is ideal for someone at the beginning of their U.S. tax career who is enthusiastic, proactive, and eager to develop both technical knowledge and client-facing experience in a dynamic professional environment.


What You’ll Be Doing

In this role, you will play an important part in supporting tax compliance processes and helping the team deliver work of the highest standard.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Assisting with the preparation of U.S. tax compliance deliverables for:

  • Hedge funds

  • Real estate funds

  • Private equity funds

  • Related management companies

  • Supporting compliance processes with consideration for:

  • Tax technical matters

  • Operational requirements

  • Risk management

  • Researching U.S. tax legislation and applying findings to client work

  • Helping to prepare clear, client-friendly presentations and supporting materials

  • Contributing to the delivery of high-quality work and excellent client service

  • Collaborating closely with colleagues across the team in a supportive and fast-paced environment


What We’re Looking For

  • Experience with partnership taxation

  • A strong willingness to learn new concepts and work with increasing independence

  • A positive attitude and collaborative team approach

  • Strong time management and organisational skills

  • Motivation to build both technical capability and client service excellence


Requirements

To be considered for this role, you should have:

  • A degree or master’s degree in Accounting, Taxation, or an equivalent discipline

  • Enrolled Agent (EA) or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) qualification, or be actively working towards one

  • Basic knowledge of:

  • Partnership taxation

  • U.S. international tax concepts

  • Relevant U.S. tax laws

  • The ability to adapt to the pace and demands of the financial services industry

  • An interest in broader operational topics such as:

  • Recruiting

  • Technology

  • Marketing

  • A willingness to understand, support, and reflect EY’s values

  • Awareness of diversity, equity, and inclusion topics, and the ability to bring your perspective to related challenges

  • A consistent commitment to integrity, authenticity, and professionalism

  • The right to work in the UK, as this role does not meet the visa sponsorship threshold


Desirable Experience

While not essential, the following would be advantageous:

  • Exposure to the asset management industry

  • Familiarity with financial products and fund structures within:

  • Hedge funds

  • Private equity

  • Real estate
