Our ambition is bold: to build the world’s most disruptive payment network and redefine how payments should feel.

We are a global team of innovators, problem-solvers, and collaborators who thrive in an entrepreneurial, high-growth environment. If you are motivated by purpose and excited by the opportunity to make a meaningful impact, this could be the role for you.

About the Global Tax Team

This opportunity sits within Trustly’s expanding Global Tax Team, part of the wider Group Finance function.

The team operates across multiple jurisdictions and is built around a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement, and shared expertise. It is an ideal environment for someone who enjoys working internationally, partnering across functions, and contributing to the development of scalable tax processes in a growing business.

The Opportunity

We are looking for a Tax Manager to support Trustly’s global tax compliance and reporting obligations while partnering closely with both the Global Tax Team and the wider business.

This role reports to the Global Tax Senior Manager and is suited to a tax professional with at least 3 years of relevant experience, ideally gained in a specialist tax role with broad exposure and responsibilities.

You will likely bring experience from a Big 4 firm or equivalent and feel confident managing tax compliance in an international setting. Previous in-house experience would be a significant advantage.

What You’ll Be Responsible For

As Tax Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring Trustly meets its tax obligations accurately, efficiently, and on time across multiple markets.

Core responsibilities include:

  • Managing Trustly’s global tax compliance process to ensure accurate reporting and timely payment of taxes worldwide

  • Reviewing corporate tax computations and tax returns

  • Reviewing VAT returns and EC Sales Lists

  • Tracking and managing the tax compliance calendar

  • Coordinating quarterly and year-end tax compliance deadlines and deliverables

  • Supporting the preparation of transfer pricing calculations

  • Serving as the primary contact for Trustly’s global tax outsource provider, ensuring they receive accurate and timely data and carrying out first-level reviews

  • Acting as a key link between Finance and Tax to support efficient data collection and information flow

  • Supporting the tax team on strategic and operational projects

  • Assisting with tax audits and responding to inquiries from tax authorities

  • Identifying and implementing digital solutions to improve efficiency and streamline compliance and tax processes

  • Supporting additional reporting and compliance obligations, including:

  • DAC6

  • CESOP

  • Regulated entity and financial institution requirements such as FATCA and CRS returns

  • Monitoring tax legislation changes and assessing the potential impact on the business

What We’re Looking For

We are seeking a technically strong, commercially aware, and adaptable tax professional who enjoys operating in a fast-moving international environment.

You’ll likely bring:

  • Strong experience managing tax compliance

  • Exposure to both direct and indirect tax compliance, with EU tax experience considered a strong advantage

  • A flexible mindset and a genuine interest in learning across a broad range of global tax matters

  • Previous in-house experience, ideally within FinTech and/or financial services, which would be highly beneficial

  • A professional tax qualification such as ACA, CTA (UK), or equivalent

  • Strong technical tax expertise

  • Tax accounting experience, which would be an advantage

  • Confidence working with stakeholders across Finance and the wider business

  • The ability to work independently in a fast-paced and evolving environment

  • Excellent organisation skills, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and competing priorities

  • Advanced Excel skills

  • Experience with NetSuite, which would be a plus

  • A track record of managing external advisors and building effective relationships with tax authorities

  • An interest in building, scaling, and automating processes within a growing business

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
