The Opportunity
We are seeking a technically strong Tax Manager to join the Corporate Tax team in Liverpool.
This role is primarily centred on corporate tax compliance, ensuring accurate and timely delivery across a broad client portfolio. Alongside compliance responsibilities, you will also have the opportunity to contribute to advisory and tax planning work as your experience and interests continue to develop.
This position would suit someone who enjoys building trusted client relationships, reviewing technical work, mentoring junior team members, and contributing to the success of a dynamic and expanding practice.
Key Responsibilities
As Tax Manager, your responsibilities will include:
Managing a portfolio of corporate tax clients
Overseeing the preparation and review of corporation tax computations and returns
Acting as a key point of contact for clients, delivering clear and practical tax advice
Ensuring compliance with UK tax legislation, filing deadlines, and internal quality standards
Reviewing work prepared by junior team members and supporting their technical development
Identifying advisory opportunities and collaborating on tax planning and project-based work
Liaising with HMRC when required, including handling enquiries
Building strong working relationships across audit, accounts, and advisory teams
What We’re Looking For
To succeed in this role, you will bring strong corporate tax expertise along with the confidence to manage client relationships and support team development.
Essential Qualifications & Experience
ACA / ACCA / CTA qualified (or equivalent)
Strong experience in UK corporate tax compliance
Previous experience managing or reviewing corporate tax work
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, growing practice
Strong communication skills with a confident client-facing approach
Desirable
- An interest in expanding your experience in tax advisory work
