As a Tax Technology Assistant Manager – AI & Automation, you will play a key part in helping shape and deliver intelligent solutions that improve the way our teams work, unlocking measurable value through AI, automation, and digital transformation.

This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a fast-moving, nationally focused Tax Technology team with strong visibility across the business. You will work alongside colleagues from Tax, Technology, Data, Operations, and other internal stakeholder groups to turn ideas into practical tools and scalable improvements. With plenty of scope for progression, this role offers the chance to make a real impact across RSM UK and potentially contribute to change on a broader global level.

About the Role

As an Assistant Manager – AI & Automation, you will help uncover where emerging technologies and process automation can enhance efficiency, improve delivery, and support better ways of working across the Tax function.

You will support initiatives from early-stage concept through to implementation, helping define requirements, shape process design, coordinate pilot activity, and assess outcomes. Alongside delivery, you will also play an important role in encouraging user adoption by gathering feedback, supporting communication, and helping teams embrace new tools and ways of working.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Identify opportunities for innovation by supporting the assessment and prioritisation of AI and automation initiatives across the Tax business.
  • Engage with stakeholders to understand current processes, pinpoint pain points, and uncover improvement opportunities.
  • Translate business needs into clear requirements and user stories that support effective technology development.
  • Contribute to solution delivery through the design, testing, and implementation of AI and automation tools.
  • Coordinate pilots and proof-of-concepts to test feasibility, validate value, and support informed decision-making.
  • Track performance and outcomes using KPIs, usage data, and other insights to measure impact and drive continuous improvement.
  • Support governance and risk considerations related to AI and automation activity, helping ensure solutions are implemented responsibly.
  • Collaborate across teams including Tax Technology, data specialists, operations teams, and wider business stakeholders.
  • Promote user adoption by supporting training, communication, engagement, and feedback activity.
  • Stay informed on emerging trends in AI and automation, identifying relevant developments that could benefit the Tax business.

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for someone who combines strong organisational and analytical skills with a genuine enthusiasm for technology-driven improvement.

Your Experience and Strengths

  • A strong interest in AI, automation, and process improvement, with a passion for using technology to solve real business challenges.
  • Ability to gather requirements, map processes, and support solution design.
  • Confidence working with a wide range of stakeholders and building effective relationships across teams.
  • Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • An analytical mindset with strong attention to detail and a focus on delivering meaningful outcomes.
  • Comfort using data analytics to identify opportunities, monitor KPIs, and measure success.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across different functions.
