Volkswagen Group UK Ltd is looking for a UK Direct Tax Specialist to join its Central Finance team on a full-time, permanent basis. This is an exciting opportunity for a tax professional who wants to play a key role in delivering compliant, controlled, and high-quality tax outcomes within a leading automotive organisation.
About the Opportunity
In this role, you will take ownership of key areas of UK direct tax compliance, with a primary focus on UK Corporation Tax, employment-related tax compliance, tax accounting, and associated reporting requirements.
You will help ensure the business meets both UK and Group tax obligations, while contributing to strong tax governance, effective risk management, and robust control frameworks. You will also provide support across VAT and customs compliance activities and contribute to the wider goals of the Volkswagen Group Tax function.
Key Responsibilities
As UK Direct Tax Specialist, your responsibilities will include:
Managing UK Corporation Tax compliance and related reporting obligations
Supporting employment-related tax compliance activities
Preparing and contributing to tax accounting processes, including associated reporting
Helping the business meet UK and Group tax requirements accurately and on time
Supporting tax risk management through strong governance and control procedures
Maintaining clear documentation and ensuring compliance processes are well controlled
Contributing to VAT and customs compliance activities where required
Collaborating with the wider Volkswagen Group Tax function to support broader objectives
Working across multiple deadlines and priorities in a fast-paced finance environment
What We’re Looking For
We are seeking a technically capable and well-organised tax professional who can combine strong compliance knowledge with excellent stakeholder engagement skills.
Skills & Experience
Recently qualified CTA, or part-qualified CTA with a clear ambition to complete the qualification
Alternatively, ACA qualified or equivalent, with proven experience in direct tax
Strong practical knowledge of UK Corporation Tax and employment-related tax
Exposure to UK transfer pricing compliance and broader international tax concepts
Experience of year-end deferred tax reporting
Strong capability in financial and tax data analysis
Excellent standards in governance, documentation, and control
Confident communicator, able to engage and influence stakeholders at different levels and across functions
Highly organised, with the ability to manage multiple reporting and compliance deadlines simultaneously
