About the Role

This position is ideal for a technically strong tax professional who thrives in fast-paced, multi-entity environments and has deep expertise in UK VAT. The role is offered on a hybrid basis, with travel required to Holborn, London or Chelmsford, Essex.

  • Maintaining the tax risk register, with clear likelihood and impact assessments, key risk indicators, and quarterly reporting to Finance leadership and Internal Audit

  • Building strong reconciliations and reporting tools, including:

  • General Ledger to VAT ledger reconciliations

  • Exception reporting

  • Analytical reviews

  • Automation through Power Query and Power BI

  • Championing data quality governance for tax-sensitive data fields such as VAT codes, supplier/customer classifications, and benefit categories

  • Delivering training and guidance to Finance, HR, and Operations teams, helping colleagues understand tax requirements through practical playbooks and clear guidance notes
