About the Team
Our Corporate Mergers & Acquisitions Tax team advises a diverse client base, ranging from entrepreneurial start-ups and scale-ups to private equity-backed businesses, household brands, and global multinationals.
The team delivers a broad range of specialist transaction tax services, including:
Tax due diligence
Buy-side and sell-side transaction support
Tax structuring
Tax strategy and governance
Tax technology
Banking and insurance tax advisory

The Opportunity
We are looking for an experienced Manager to lead on a wide variety of transaction tax assignments. This role is ideal for someone with strong technical expertise, commercial awareness, and the confidence to manage projects and relationships in a fast-paced environment.
You will work closely with specialists across the wider Tax practice, including VAT and Employment Taxes teams, as well as colleagues in Transaction Services, to deliver integrated solutions for clients.
This position offers a high level of variety, visibility, and responsibility, making it well suited to an individual who enjoys both technical challenge and client engagement.
Key Responsibilities
As a Manager within the Corporate Mergers & Acquisitions Tax team, you will:
Lead tax due diligence and tax structuring projects across a variety of transactions
Manage both buy-side and sell-side assignments with a high level of technical quality
Collaborate with internal tax specialists and transaction support teams to deliver joined-up client solutions
Build and develop your internal and external professional network
Identify opportunities to win new work and cross-sell services to existing clients
Oversee client take-on, engagement procedures, and project risk management
Respond proactively to client needs, ensuring timely communication and excellent service throughout the transaction lifecycle
Maintain strong relationships with clients and key internal stakeholders
Contribute to legal documentation and forecasting models where required
Coach and develop junior team members, supporting their technical and professional growth
Support the development of strategic transaction relationships, including key private equity accounts
What We’re Looking For
To succeed in this role, you will bring a strong combination of technical knowledge, project leadership, and commercial judgement.
Essential Requirements
In-depth and up-to-date tax knowledge, with specialist expertise in transaction-related tax issues
Proven experience in transaction tax, including relevant due diligence and structuring work
Project management and people management experience
The ability to build strong client relationships and identify opportunities for additional services
Experience engaging with senior client stakeholders, including management teams and legal advisers
Degree-level education and/or CTA, ACA, or equivalent professional qualification
