RSM is looking for an experienced Employer Solutions Associate Director to join our team, with the flexibility to be based from one of our national offices.
This is an exciting opportunity for a specialist in share schemes, incentives, and reward advisory to work with a diverse client portfolio, lead high-value projects, and play a key role in shaping innovative employee reward solutions. You’ll also have the chance to mentor junior colleagues and contribute to the continued growth of the team.
The Opportunity
In this role, you will take the lead in advising clients on the design, implementation, and ongoing operation of employee share plans and incentive arrangements. Working closely with businesses of varying sizes and structures, you’ll help deliver tailored solutions that align with both commercial goals and tax requirements.
You will be trusted to build strong client relationships, provide expert technical guidance, and ensure projects are delivered to a consistently high standard.
What You’ll Be Doing
As an Associate Director within Employer Solutions, your responsibilities will include:
Meeting with clients to understand their business objectives and reward priorities, then designing effective employee incentive schemes.
Advising on share plans and reward structures, including tax-efficient implementation and operational considerations.
Supporting transactions by providing specialist tax advice on a broad range of share plan matters.
Implementing share plan arrangements, including the preparation of associated legal documentation.
Providing guidance on share valuations for tax purposes.
Collaborating internationally with RSM colleagues across the global network on cross-border share incentive structures.
Leading and developing teams, identifying individual strengths and aligning them with client and project needs.
Managing, motivating, and supporting junior staff, including briefing them on client requirements, supervising work, and delivering on-the-job coaching and appraisals.
Driving efficiency and value, helping clients maximise the effectiveness of their reward spend.
What We’re Looking For
We’re looking for someone who combines technical expertise with commercial awareness, leadership skills, and a genuine passion for helping clients solve complex challenges.
You’ll likely bring:
A strong track record of generating profitable new revenue streams and winning new business.
Experience leading and managing teams, with the ability to inspire, develop, and support others.
Business development strength, with confidence in building networks and relationships in the local business community.
Proven expertise in reward and share scheme advice for:
entrepreneurial businesses
owner-managed businesses
private equity-backed organisations
Excellent client management and project delivery skills.
A reputation for producing high-quality work for demanding and sophisticated clients.
Strong communication and interpersonal abilities, with confidence in building credibility at all levels.
