The Opportunity
As an Employment Tax Manager, you will advise a diverse portfolio of clients ranging from entrepreneurial owner-managed businesses to expanding corporate organisations. The role offers exposure to a wide variety of technical and commercially focused employment tax matters, making it ideal for someone who enjoys both complexity and variety in their work.
You will also play an important role in mentoring and developing junior team members, while supporting wider business development initiatives across the firm.
Key Responsibilities
Working closely with the Tax Partners and Directors, you will be involved in delivering a broad range of employment tax advisory services.
Your responsibilities will include:
Managing employment tax advisory projects across a wide range of client assignments
Advising on benefit and reward packages
Providing guidance on international employment matters
Supporting clients with national minimum wage issues
Handling construction industry scheme (CIS) enquiries
Advising businesses on employment tax issues arising from acquisitions and disposals
Reviewing and signing off employment tax due diligence reports
Coaching, mentoring, and developing trainees within the tax team
Contributing to business development activity both locally and across the wider firm
Supporting the strategic development of Bishop Fleming’s employment tax service offering
About You
To succeed in this role, you will be a technically capable and commercially aware tax professional with strong interpersonal skills and a passion for developing others.
You will ideally have:
Relevant professional qualifications and experience working in an employment tax environment
Strong employment tax advisory experience
Experience advising on international employments, which is desirable but not essential
CIS knowledge, which is helpful but not required
Excellent communication skills with the ability to build trusted client relationships
A collaborative and supportive leadership style, with enthusiasm for coaching and developing others
A genuine interest in contributing to the growth and success of the wider firm
