Bishop Fleming is seeking a talented and commercially minded Employment Tax Manager to join its expanding tax team. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a broad and varied client base, delivering high-quality advisory support while helping to shape the future of the firm’s employment tax offering.

The Opportunity

In this role, you will work closely with Tax Partners and Directors to provide specialist advice across a range of employment tax matters. You will support clients ranging from entrepreneurial owner-managed businesses to larger and growing corporate organisations, giving you exposure to a wide variety of engaging and technically interesting work.

This position also offers the opportunity to play an active part in mentoring junior colleagues, contributing to business development activity, and supporting the strategic growth of the employment tax service line.


What You’ll Be Doing

As Employment Tax Manager, your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading and delivering employment tax advisory projects across a range of areas

  • Advising clients on benefits and reward packages

  • Supporting on international employment tax matters, where relevant

  • Providing guidance on National Minimum Wage issues

  • Handling Construction Industry Scheme (CIS) enquiries

  • Advising on employment tax implications arising from business acquisitions and disposals

  • Reviewing and signing off employment tax due diligence reports

  • Coaching, mentoring, and developing trainees and more junior team members

  • Supporting business development initiatives both locally and across the wider firm

  • Contributing to strategic discussions and helping develop Bishop Fleming’s employment tax services


What We’re Looking For

To be successful in this role, you will be a qualified professional with solid experience in an employment tax environment and the confidence to manage both client relationships and technical advisory work.

We are particularly interested in candidates who can demonstrate the following:

  • Relevant professional qualifications

  • Experience working in employment tax

  • Knowledge of international employment tax matters is desirable, though not essential

  • CIS experience is helpful but not required

  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills

  • A collaborative and supportive leadership style

  • A genuine interest in coaching and developing others

  • A proactive approach to contributing to the growth and success of the wider firm
