Moore Kingston Smith is seeking an experienced Tax Senior to join its expanding Private Client Tax team in the City office. This is an excellent opportunity for a personal tax professional who enjoys managing a varied client portfolio, building trusted relationships, and contributing to both compliance and advisory work.
In this role, you will take ownership of a diverse portfolio while working closely with Managers, Directors, and Partners. You will become a key point of contact for clients, delivering high-quality tax support and practical solutions across a broad range of private client matters.

You will play an important role in ensuring clients receive a responsive, accurate, and commercially aware service, while also supporting wider advisory projects as they arise.
What You’ll Be Doing
As Tax Senior, your responsibilities will include:
Managing a mixed private client portfolio covering routine personal tax compliance
Serving as the main point of contact for clients and maintaining strong day-to-day relationships
Attending client meetings and supporting discussions on tax matters
Advising individuals on tax matters relating to earned, investment, and property income
Working with owner-managed businesses, partnerships, and high-net-worth individuals
Handling Capital Gains Tax matters across a variety of client scenarios
Supporting and delivering ad-hoc advisory work within private client tax
Collaborating with colleagues across the wider firm on client assignments
Proposing fees, raising bills, and monitoring work in progress (WIP) and recoverability
What We’re Looking For
To succeed in this role, you will bring a strong technical grounding in personal tax together with excellent communication and client management skills.
We are particularly interested in candidates who have:
ATT and/or CTA qualification, or are actively studying towards CTA
Previous experience managing a personal tax portfolio
Strong knowledge of Self-Assessment and tax computations
Experience advising on EIS, VCT, and SEIS investment reliefs
Knowledge of UK residence and domicile rules (preferred)
Confidence in researching tax legislation and HMRC guidance
A proactive, professional, and client-focused approach
Strong communication skills and the ability to build credibility with clients and colleagues
